Not that it's really bothering me but just wondering what it's doing.

So I'm coming up on 14 months from new / purchase date. Didn't bother signing up for a subscription for the magic SOS button, pretty much just ignored it. It was green all along. At this point I should be past the 1 year trial, but my light is still solid green. My understanding is that it should have changed when there is no active subscription anymore.

Anyone else notice there's on yet after the sub time? Is there still some level of connectivity but more like 'you can talk to us but get no help with no money..' haha.

I don't want to try pressing it and end up connecting with "Bob from Kansas" and have a discussion / sales pitch just to find this out...

:washing: (and this just cuz I never used it before and happen to be doing that at the moment...)

Oh, I know! That's why I put the Walking Dead Daryl easy street torture song on at full blast whenever I drive.

If I can ever get a hold of a meso switch panel for up there, I plan on leaving it on top of the headliner. Maybe that’s why the switch has a cover on it.

    "Those aren't pillows!"

My switch doesn't have a cover, must have changed at some point. It's also mildly close to the rear locker and overhead light switches if you end up fumbling around up there.
    "What's the emergency?" ....

I recall mine being green when I bought mine used with no active subscription. I think it's green if there is a signal connection, red if there is not, because mine went red when my DCM went bad and would no longer connect.

    I drive a Miata.
In its early days OnStar got some horrid press for telling someone "I'm sorry that you were in an accident and are bleeding out, can I have a credit card number so I can reactivate your emergency response?"

I think these days most connected services solved that morality problem by saying "I see your phone is connected via bluetooth. I'll help you dial 911 using that." The button on most auto makers will still connect for that purpose.
