I think we're allowed to cut down trees that come out of nowhere and attack trucks for no reason. (Just like how they put down man-eating bears.)

It's a perfect fit and has more amps.
It's recommended to upgrade the wires before upgrading the alternator though. I may or may not still do it. If I do I'll just carry the one I bought as a spare.

He's not allowed to bring chainsaws on camping trips anymore.

So I was wondering how your SC works for you, we are similar areas of daily driving and both frequent the Sierra’s I was wondering how it handles that and how you have it set up? I’m thinking more about getting one.

It's only been on my truck for about an hour.
It was making this crazy sound and getting super hot.
So I took it off and sent it to The High Speed Lab back in January. It needed all kinds of stuff.
I just got a text from them about 20 minutes ago saying it's in final assembly and should ship this week.

Ah okay I thought you had it on already. I’m pretty torn on buying one, I should wait. But there’s a used one in Santa Cruz for 2.1k which ain’t bad. But I’m also considering a new one. Just need to factor in a fuel pump and other extras to get a grand total cost

I'd be very weary of a used one. Unless you can see it on a truck while it's running or they've had it rebuilt by a reputable shop with invoices to prove it. Otherwise you have to assume it needs a rebuild at around $1000. For $2100 + $1000 you're getting pretty close.

Mine was sold as "rebuilt". It had new bearings but the rotors were totally shot. In the end I'll end up spending about as much as I would have on a new one.

I just saw your post on another thread about 4.88’s vs 5.29 on 255 85 16’s.
I’ve been thinking 4.88’s forever but your mention of 5.29 has me thinking again.

Super charger may fix that. And the 4.88s are good. But I feel more stock ish, rather than more on the torque side. And that big booty you have added has to be on the heavy side? You are welcome to drive my truck if you are in the area sometime.

I think it’s around 1,000 pounds. The shell, bed and sleeping platform were about 500 pounds total so it’s 500 pounds heavier than before. I’d like to weigh it one of these days.

What’s interesting is I have timbren load bearing bump stops. Before the truck would sit solidly on those when it’s all loaded up for a trip. Now it’s has about 3/8” gap. I was able to move all the weight between the axels. I can feel that better weight distribution when I’m driving.

I may take you up on taking your truck for a spin next time around Concord.

    Great guesses!
Random shot in the dark is off by 52 pounds.
It’s 5780 pounds with me, 2 full fuel tanks,7 gallons of water and around 100 pounds of tools and spare parts and other bull shit (when I go solo camping I like to smoke a joint and do some camper building at camp)

When my truck is in low range and it goes up a steep hill and there’s a lot of load on the motor the engine fan hits the fan shroud.
At first I thought it was from the fan shroud being loose. But it still happened after I secured the fan shroud.
Today I finally did 5 minutes of research and took this video. A bad engine mount is the diagnosis.

This made my day. I do the same, but I can't be sure if I really ever get anything done.
