    Whoa! These are so bright!
The dimmer helps a lot but even at their lowest setting they’re pretty bright.

I know how you feel, I never use my main lights after I close up for the night. I installed a seperat lihht strip with a dimmer that can be very dim.

I broke my sewing machine last week sewing together carpet, 18oz vinyl coated polyester and sunbrella bias binding tape.

I was moving the needle side to side and had a brain fart and moved the needle while sewing.

The needle bent and collided with the retaining ring cap spring, broke in half and the broken half jammed into the shuttle gib hook.

It bent the cap spring and put a huge burr into the gib hook. And through the “shuttle transmission group” out of timing.

I put a spare spring retaining cap into it and tried to file and buff out the burr on the gib hook but decided to buy a new one and work repairing this one later.

I had a spare cap spring and still need to fix the timing.

Right now is sews but it sounds horrible making this banging sound and it chews the thread up from getting caught on the burr on the gib hook.

new parts showed up today. First test came out good!

I bought these poles for the awning I made.

KOMCLUB Telescoping Tarp Poles,Adjustable Tent Poles for Tarp,Heavy-Duty Design,Portable & Lightweight Fiberglass Tent Poles for Shelter,Camping, Awning, 4 Sections Adjustable to 98.51 in(Set of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CDR6YLG?_encoding=UTF8

The bag they came in is crap and they were vibrating together

So, I made this padded bag out of Pellon Flex Foam, 18oz vinyl coated polyester and some random black fabric I had that I used for the liner.

All that custom fabric work is rad! Must be super satisfying to be able to make all your own custom tailored storage for whatever you want.

Yes! It’s super fun! I’ve learned a lot!

Next up is going to be either an improved trash bag or motorcycle panniers.

If you enjoy this stuff then both of those things would give you a target audience if you decided to do limited production runs. Not sure if that's where you want to go with this but it is food for thought.

I’ve definitely thought about and will most likely give it a go someday.

For now I’m working on technique and design so when I do decide to offer something it’s something nice.

This weekend I replaced the drivers side inner tie rod…no pics of that.
I replaced my front bump stops with durabumps.

I've been chasing a P0171 trouble code for the past couple of weeks.

It seems my CEL would come on when the truck was at idle or low RPM.

It all started a few weeks ago. I noticed my brake booster was making a hissing sound. Further tests concluded my brake booster needed replacing. My CEL started coming on at the same time.
At the time I was hoping the brake booster was the cause of the P0171.
After replacing the brake booster the problem got worse!
My CEL would come on sooner.

There is a noticable hissing sound when you turn the engine off for about 10 seconds coming from the what appears to be the driver's side rear of the engine. I've tried to isolate it with a mechanic's stethoscope but no luck. The hissing does not last long enough to isolate it's location.

I have an AFR guage which was showing the normal 14.7 (+/- .2) at idle.

I have Torq pro which is showing my fuel trims to be quite high:
    Long term - 26-30%
    Short Term - 18-22%

When I spray brake cleaner into the area below the supercharger the Short Term Fuel trims dip as low as 7%. However, the engine does not change sounds at all.
If I spray directly onto the injectors there is no change. If I spray onto the manifold gasket where the supercharger meets the intake there is a dip as well.

I did a smoke test and found smoke to be coming from beneath and to the rear of the supercharger but cannot located exactly where. I ran a small lipstick camera under there and did not find anything. I sprayed everthing with soapy water with the smoke machine hooked up and did not find the leak. I focused the campera on the manifold gasket, injectors and all vacuum lines and injector seems.

I changed the intake manifold. While I was in there I cleaned the MAF and cleaned the throttle body.

I put everything back together and the Long and Short term fuel trims are unchanged. The CEL came back on after about 10 minutes of idling. But now the AFR's at idle are 15.2-16.0 for about a minute and eventually come down to around 14.7.
So, now it's worse than when I started.

The hissing sound is still there when I shut the engine off for about 10 seconds. Not enough time to find it.
I'm going to try to hook up a vacuum pump to one of the vaccum lines to see if I can make the hissing sound last. I'm hoping this will help me find the leak.

I'm also going to test the brake booster again. The booster I got is a remanufactured one from O'rielly's. It is not unheard of from those to be bad out of the box.
The brakes seem to work just fine but I'll check it just to be sure.

At WOT the truck runs great. The SC is making boost, AFRs are high 12's low 13's and it accelerates just like it always has.

    Thanks!
I decided to take yesterday off from it.
I'll get back to it either today or tomorrow or next weekend.
Luckily I don't need to smog it until next April.
