I need to vent of what happened to me 4 days before my birthday. I was on my way to get a iced coffee 1 block away from my house. There are two entrances into the shopping center; I was going to enter the second one. Some idiot started to enter the intersection and struck my new truck. My truck is a 2013 taco limited with 2k miles!!! I am now driving a Nissan Altima rental. I miss my truck already. So the damages are going to be about 5k plus. My bed is unaligned with the tailgate none operational and the front of the bed near the drivers side back door are touching. I dropped it off at the repair shop and I hope it comes out looking as the day I bought!!! I'll post picture of it again once I get it back!!! Can't wait!!!

    Bone stock for now....
Sorry to hear that man. Lot of people driving around not paying attention. I know it doesn't help, but your damage is relatively minimal and you didn't get hurt. Any chance you can get a nice plate bumper out of the deal?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
As long as the accident wasn't your fault you'll be fine. ^^ Right, nice time for a plate bumper upgrade.

I was actually thinking of making it a flatbed like my 84' but I looked around and found that a really nice flatbed would be expensive right now. I am eventually going to get both the front ant rear plate bumpers but for now it's at the shop getting fixed back to stock! I drove this ugly 2013 Nissan Altima today and so far I hate it other then the push start ha ha!!! I miss my truck so bad!!! As soon as I get it back I'm going to install my HIDS that I got from the group by on TW and I'll be getting my windows tinted including the windshield.

Sucks man.. i feel for ya
I just had a similar accident mid december, even took out the exact same spot but worse. Tire and rim are toast, leaf pack needed replaced and damage continued up to the front. It sucks, even worse in your case because your truck is brand new. The insurance company said i'd get a similar vehicle, they gave me a hyundai elantra sedan.. lmao. If it didn't have heated seats and triptronic it would be so much worse. I get my truck back tomorrow, thank god

If it was not your fault you can request a depreciated value check from the insurance company. Some will pay up no questions some will not but by most legal standards are responsible. To get an idea if how much ask the dealership how much they would sell your truck for with a clean car fax vs the nee car fax with a damage report. Hope this helps and you get a few more dollars which is owed to you.

I'm sure they will get it fixed up for you so it looks good as new. How fast were they going? Was it a girl by any chance? :/ Have fun joyriding the shit out of the Nissan while your baby gets worked on, it will all be over soon. :)

Get fiberglass fenders... to stuff those 35" tires you will eventually be getting. :D

You know when you bought the truck that you were buying just the "starter's package", right? :D

Your right tail light looks a bit like my left one. A woman slid into the back of mine after the Packers game in mid-December. The bulbs survived, so I am still driving it. The local dealer is backed up with all the crappy weather and crappier drivers up here, so I can't get it fixed until February.

Hey everyone!!! Thanks for all the input. I would like to add a few details. The iced coffee was for my passenger (My Mother) and which is the reason why I drove over to the shopping center. Man law never broken lol !!! Yes, it was a woman who drove her Dodge Durango with bush guard into my truck. We were driving around 25-35 mph at most. After the accident I still got her the coffee and I went to the liquor store for some relaxing liquid lol!!!

On a side note: What is this depreciated value check? Does this exists in California? If so I want one! How do you find out if the other parties insurance will cover this?

I'm going to call my insurance company right now!!!

    Here is a little update:
My truck was supposedly to be ready on 01/10/2014 but they were missing the tail light. I was going to be ready again on Monday 01/13 but after inspecting the work I found several details. The details I found are the following: sever chips that were just sprayed over with paint( they didn't sand, fill in, or even them out before paint), some marks were not even touched, and the biggest thing the bed gaps are not 100% the same. On the drivers side there is about a 2 finger space where on the passenger side i could half a finger in. I'm really concerned about this.

Does any one have experiencing with this? What are the gaps on your truck between bed and rear of the cab? Please any input would be great!!

And guess what I got another rental.. This time this a nasty little bug!!! LOL enjoy the laugh!!!

Just a bunch of old crap
If the gaps between bed and cab don't match, either they didn't tighten the bed down right (unlikely) or the frame is tweaked. I'm leaning towards a frame that they didn't pull straight. You better get on that sh!t ASAP and hope they get it right.

Sounds like a little homework and some quotes/recommendations of some body shops before you signed anything would have been in your best interest. I hope they get you right again.
