    Like someone else mentioned, I think emailing the dealerships is the best way to go when purchasing a new vehicle. Most of them have dedicated internet sales departments these days. You can easily find the invoice price online, then use that information to have the dealers compete with each other. I didn't set foot in a dealership until I went to sign the paperwork and pick up my new truck. I paid 30K out the door for my 4WD TRD OR back in '05 when they first came out and were almost impossible to find, especially in my area.
