Ouch! Wife tore the corner of the rear bumper off

Might get to celebrate the Steak and a BJ Holiday more than once this year...

 

I rarely use the rear view camera. As a matter of fact, I don't like it at night. it's too bright.

I'm an "over the shoulder backer upper".

From my research, bsm will not work with steel bumper. Only work with plastic. Thats why all Tacoma that has bsm have a plastic end cap. I think a few fabricator are working on that issue.

 

Eh man, stuff happens....I wouldn't think she did it on purpose.

Fortunately it looks like the post didn't get into the rear quarter panel so you can probably fix it yourself.

 

I hate the cheap plastic bumpers on the Taco.

 

I think that is the point. It is a commonly damaged area, and Mike Sweers mentioned in an interview that he made it conveniently cheap to replace for the owner.

 

This is great and so appropriate.

 

Man, I wish they had this done in time for the labor day sale. I would have ordered one.

 

It is dented, two spots

 

I have the parts to repair mine already. Any hidden pins, attachments, etc I need to know about? Looks like you did yours on the ground. Would it have been any easier on a lift?

 

Not really just have to take the end cap which is just 2 clips. Mine has the bsm and backup sensor to deal with but honestly wasnt hard to pry open. I just took my time. On YouTube has a guy that open his bumper for reference if needed.

 

Give her a hug. Fix the truck. Don't fuss.

Someday when you break her grandma's prize vase hand me down, she'll remember, and extend the same courtesy.

Or you can show her the pictures if she doesn't.

I actually did give her a hug, told her not to worry about it, it can be fixed. I'll just keep this in my hip pocket for later

 

those dents on the bed itself are pretty low. Low enough to be cut off for a high clearance bumper
