Just saying it's something to do. Still haven't seen any thermometer readings in this thread.

Has anyone done the TSB 0034-18? It looks like it says to add an extra fan at the condenser/radiator area, new relay, and new engine bay seals. Would love to know if it helps.

My main complaint is that cold air doesn't reach the back. The 4runner has vents in the back. That makes a big difference.

Has anyone replaced the cabin fan/blower with something larger?

I want a higher CFM coming from my vents.

higher CFM wont help if there the evaporator is warm

The issue with more CFM is more current needed to drive it and your resister pack for speed control might not be able to handle it or the wiring for that matter

Anyone else in here add fans?

Going to probably add another 10” and try a straight blade design

Did that. No change. My ac blows ice cold while driving, but only about 60 while idle in 85-90 degree temps

It's less Tacoma and more mod
That's about right really, the most you can really expect without using the recirc is about 30-40 differential, that's a lot for non moving ac system, especially if there is any humidity

But moving it will blow in the 40s

I thought the numbers seemed right as well but I have measured vent temp in another tacoma and it wasn’t above 50 at idle

Had the dash apart including the glove box so while in there pulled the filter, good grief was it clogged, clean or replace the thing if you want max air. One year since last time in there.

I have the same issue and I live in Tucson AZ. If idling for any significant time it can start to get hot air and not cold. The dealer (Precision) here is not the best place to work with...unless you use Yelp to complain then they respond well :)
If only I had the Toyota Platinum Car Care extended warranty...Oh yeah I do. But when I called them they said something to the effect that it only covers things that are due to manufacturers defects. Apparently blowing hot air is not a defect.

I would say either your mechanical fan is busted or your charge is low. Hot air is certainly not normal. Mine still blows cool just not cold at extended idle.

My entire A/C system went out yesterday when it was 113 degrees. The blower sounded like a garbage disposal. I drove 30 minutes home with my windows down. The wife was not impressed! Dealer says at least 3 weeks to get the new blower because of all the issues they are having with them.

Parked overnight, with current weather, idling for 2-3mins. The last show the temps with compressor engaged and disengaged. Yes it's not hot.. But that humidity makes air harder to cool. #data

There's a blend door is there not?
Has anyone with problems investigated whether or not that's working properly?
It should move with your temp setting dial and, I imagine, be fully one way with the dial set to cold max.

My A/C system is new I just replaced everything this spring right before summer. I get 45 degrees going down the road on a 98 degree day with 10,000 percent humidity. I get 59 degrees at idle . If I just barely touch the throttle my temp goes down real quick. This morning I ordered a 12 inch pusher fan from Summit Racing I am going to install it myself to come on at idle I will keep everyone posted.:fingerscrossed:
