    I will have to pop out the faux honeycomb and inspect to see where it's holding onto the molded scoop part, once I figure that out I will dremel the small honeycomb sections out and maybe leave a few around the key areas to keep it strong, but the openings will help further extract heat and give it somewhere to escape.

    The only way I have to test my vent temps right now is my IR gun, but we both know those are not entirely accurate.

    Well my issue with the AC was not so much when driving, as the temps maintained really cool, it was mostly at idle or at a standstill for a really long time.

    That cannot apply to me and my setup as I am no longer NA, and have extra things in there taking up space. I have to explore other solutions, but a pusher fan is not one that will work with my and other folks configurations who are boosted.

    Switching to an e-fan helped a lot at idle. What helped more was the 26.6k ohm resistor.

    It is a very small and thin insert, your best bet is to remove it all together and leave the scoop open. It’s held on by 4-6 clips, it’s pretty straight once you remove the 4 nuts holding the scoop and I think 3 clips.

    So far the hood seal has helped out a ton for me.

    As it turns out, apparently there is more than one way to skin a cat in this arena. I am still wanting to do the resistor mod you have been running, but I also figure I might as well open up my hood scoop. My old GTO ran much cooler when I opened up the dual hood scoops on it and it's been something I'd been wanting to do to this truck for a long time.

    Have you opened yours up entirely? I have removed mine to study it before and found that there is a solid plastic wall back behind the faux insert.

    The only drawback to removing it is that if you are drawing in ambient air you will suck in some heat being let out by the engine bay into your HVAC especially at idle, but these are the tradeoffs for better AC performance I suppose. :)

    Mine is always on recirculate. Heat can’t really get in if the flap is closed, you know?
