What color is the wire we need to add the resistor to (in parallel)?

It’s a 2 pin plug. It’s a black sheathed cable coming from the evap temp sensor and it meets up to a connector that snaps onto a hole/tab on the side of the blower. If you’re laying upside down on the passenger floor board, it is toward your right. You can see the cable coming down. Might be super easy to see with the glove box out, but I didn’t take it off. One wire is white and the other is black.

Awesome, so you just tapped into the black wire in two places to add a wire in parallel then test with different resistors to achieve desired compressor cutoff temp? Genious!

    Exactly

26,600 is what I’m sticking with.

I tried 23,100 and it got down to 38* but the off/on temp difference was further apart. Also the compressor stays on a lot longer to reach 38* and TBH 42* is already hardening nipples.

    26,600:
    • Compressor off at 42*
    • Compressor back on at 46*
    23,100:
    • Compressor off at 38*
    • Compressor back on at 46*

    Electrical wizardry at its finest.
One of my buddies sent me a whole bunch of resistors and other crap in a shipment. I'll have to check and see if I have that resistor. :D:D:D

    I
if you don’t have a 26,600 you can string a bunch of smaller values in series to get you there.

Sitting in my truck again today for lunch and have the AC fully cranked up on a 90*F day here in California. I opened up the hood scoop some last night to allow for further heat release and have the rear hood seal removed.. took a center vent temp reading and am getting a nice cool 45.5*F from the AC. Not even touching the throttle at all to try and further cool down anymore at idle. I'm happy. :)

I am also thinking of putting in 1/8" spacers under the hood bolts to space the rear of the hood up just a little bit.
I'll use my belt wrap mod stainless for it.

You do live in a hotter area of the country so I wouldn't talk you out of spacing your hood more, but I would probably say if you have the sport model open up the hood scoop and run the rear hood seal removed and I would be willing to bet you will be much happier with the performance overall. I feel tons of trapped heat escaping through my scoop now!

Off Road model here which is exactly why I'm doing it. The sport scoop would actually work better if it faced backwards so it would allow the air to escape easier.

Yeah like the old school looking cowl hoods, it would I agree. You would be surprised how much hot air I feel coming out now despite the front facing scoop. In the meantime I hang out in my now icebox cabin about as happy as a pig in mud. :D

    Hood spacer shims. Freshly made.

They are only 1/8" thick. I dont want a big hood gap on the sides of the hood.

I think I’ll put the seal back in so water runs off to the sides instead of straight into the bay. Then space the hood up so air can still get escape.
I want to see them on. I’m thinking I want to go thicker. Because racetruck.
