Sorry for your loss. He lived to 16 years. It sounds like he had a great family and was well cared for.

Thank you-he is and was very much loved and by the way me and Rose feel, he is no doubt a member of our family. This is our first day without him in over 16 years. It's pretty hard and depressing as hell.
Rose is crying at every turn of routine with Dompy that is suddenly, coldly missing this morning.
Grief is a long road with this little guy.

We have to take Domino this morning to a pet cemetery in Colma we chose to have him cremated.
Yesterday, at the vet hospital, we had a choice between them sending him to a place up in Napa, or this place in Colma where we would personally take him ourselves-we chose the latter. This place, when I called yesterday morning at 7am, the "exchange" guy said they would be there at 9am, no appointment, just walk in. So we drove Domino down there after the vet to find it was closed. I called that "exchange" guy and he said "I was only going by what they told me"
We had to bring Dompy back home and I had to put him in the bar fridge downstairs. He's there now. I'm about to go over there and gather his little body up to take him to Colma:(
Not supposed to go like this.

Oh Frank I feel for you my friend. Can't you bury him in the backyard or something? That's what I did with Tiny. At least I know where she is. :(

Rob I'd rather do that but we're moving to Rocklin in late August and we want him with us.
He's at that Colma place now and we're to get his ashes back Thursday.

I understand, Frank. I just didn't know your circumstances. Again, I'm so sorry you lost your boy. Eat lots of ice cream helps! :) If you need anything, I'm always lurking about. Glad you got some resolution today.

Hope you got your little Domino's remains back today, so you can get some closure. I know it's hard, Frank. It will get better with time, my friend.

Thank you Rob I do appreciate you. Don't know you but you seem to have a certain sense about this kind of loss. We got him back this morning in a small 4x6" nice little engraved wood box. So now we can take him with us to Rocklin and Rosie said we'll have a little "shrine" at our new house for him. He meant so much to us-more than we thought now that his little body isn't here anymore. I know I'm not alone with taking losing Dompy pretty hard-I know there are many others here who lost their animals to a devastating degree like I have. But I think this one kind of broke my heart. For a cat, he was pretty loyal-like a good dog. He was my little buddy for many years, my little sidekick at Rosie's house every day. I miss that so bad. He taught me one thing most-sometimes an animal can be a best friend- better than another human. You have your little best buddy with many daily routines and life is sweet. Until it ain't. Now the big empty hole in your heart.

Thank you Frank! I'm always very sensitive to the pain others. I know you are hurting & so is Rose. I'm glad you got his ashes back today. They're like your best friend who will never let you down, unconditionally. I feel so empty without my little girl. I do know what you're going through, that's why I reached out to you. You know me now. It'll be okay, buddy.

In fact Frank, if I do adopt another animal, I will name he or she Dompy in honor of Domino. That's a great name, very unique & cute. His name will live on.

Thanks buddy-I didn't know you lost yours too. I tried to hit your profile to find out when and what but you have a restriction in there. I'm sorry. I'll dig around and see if I can find it.

Sorry for your loss. Nothing is harder than making that final trip to the vet. I was so useless afterwards, my wife got us two kittens the next week. They were such a handful, I didn't have as much time to be sad.
