Welp she did it. 2005 2.7 5spd access cab. She did what I believed to be impossible. My beloved 2.7 2tr-fe blew a connecting rod. And then drove another 25 miles. And then started every time I tried to start it afterwards. But still, 285,000 is not bad for a motor that I absolutely abused. It had a frame replacement in 2019 so I decided a new motor was the way very quickly. Let me tell you, deciding for some reason that I wanted an OEM new Toyota motor instead of a reman unit..... I fucked up friends.

As I blew it up and then drove it 25 miles and then continued to start it and show people (hold your applause for my responsibility) basically everything on the motor is trash. I have ordered
    1. new short block
    2. new head
    3. gasket kit
    4. timing cover
    5. upper oil pan & oil strainer
    6. about 600,000 bolts
    7. new flywheel and clutch (twas just time)
    8. much much more

I'm in about $7000, using mostly Toyota OEM parts. My thought was that its got a beautiful frame, its a stick which not only do I love but I have personally never heard of a r155f or r155 having a massive failure, Over the years I've done a radiator, hoses, AC lines, condenser, compressor, odds and ends so most stuff in the engine bay is new enough, IDK is this stupid? If you're my grandfather (basically my dad) then yes and I should feel very stupid for doing it. I don't think so.

I've got the old motor out, and I've already picked up the new short block, and most other stuff. Just need to go pick up the head on the 20th and ill be ready to start putting it all back together. Put up some pics of the old engine and also one pic of my dog cause she's just so stikin cute. Anyone has any tips I might be able to use let me know.
