Can't keep it, she's already halfway out the door. I've had my goodbyes. Fam first these days :) And I didn't know longbeds were desirable... I love it, and I know they're rarer, but didn't know they were preferred?

Thanks dpgreen. I'm chugging forward. Pretty excited about everything, actually. I'll get another bike in a few years once the newness of fatherhood wears out a bit, probably. Gonna hopefully teach the kid to ride dirt bikes. But I'll never find another 64k mile 22R. I guess I'm prepared for that.

Congrats on the new truck! And more importantly the baby on the way!! I promise that fatherhood will mean far more then any new truck ever will. And on keeping a black truck clean. My thoughts, when its clean it looks great. When its dirty, just remember how clean it can be. IMO, no color looks as nice as black when clean. But you may go crazy if you want it to always look clean.

Yep, it has the locking rear. At least the 2nd Gen's 4x2 TRD OR's do, I am assuming 3rd Gen is the same

Just some 35% tint to match the rears and some 285/70/17 Falkens…
Congrats on your TRD OffRoad. Sharp color and sharp truck! I'd say if you live in Cali, you're fine w/ the 2WD model. It looks the same and 99% of the time you won't need that very expensive 4WD option. I live in NE Ohio, so I opted for the 4x4 OffRoad. I also ordered a 6 speed manual because I wasn't a fan of the auto, but people have varying opinions on that. Your truck is sharp. I'm sure you're happy as you know what! Here's mine...welcome to the Taco Club! Brian

Once we had kids my wife said no more bikes or skydiving...I wasn't leaving her alone with kids. When the youngest reached 14 she said she was OK with me getting a bike again. I interpreted that as "I'm OK if you die now" LOL.

Hey! Yeah, I thought I would get a 4x4 MT. I really did. But, number one, I couldn't find one in DC - just access cab - and number two I've been driving around MT 4x4's for so many years... in LA... traffic... while working etc. I'm kinda psyched to have an auto to be honest... feel's more like a "dad truck" too ;)

Yes, MT is one of those things on my list that I could easily miss, everything from the fun of driving it to the fact that it kept all the friends and neighbors from wanting to borrow it constantly :). On the other hand, having to mess with a baby in the back seat and having to worry about about a clutch pedal is one of those things that you won't miss. My wife hated the MT (she drove a MT herself for 10+ years but hated the heavy clutch and truck gearing on the Tacoma) and that caused problems when I needed to switch cars when I was carrying 5 people. She has no problem now occasionally swapping her BMW for the 2016 Tacoma for a day now. I also drive the truck on long trips now and got tired of running at 3000+ RPMs in 6th on the highway. The AT gearing is much more highway friendly. My life is my life and in spite of the fact that I miss the fun and function of the MT my overall life is better with the AT.

Congrats on the new truck. I'm really tempted to bid on your old one.

I think you got a solid price, fair price on your auction.

Some will say you should have gotten more by having a higher reserve. I say it's not really a collector status vehicle, it's a 30 yo truck in very nice shape.

Hope you are pleased with the results, and the winning bidder comes through with payment, pickup, etc etc.

Thx Bill, I had no idea what to expect. Some folks here got me excited for more - but that's okay ;) I did see one sell a couple days ago with 30,000 more miles than mine - and not as nice for $11,100. So, a bit curious. But the buyer is a climber - and a super nice guy. Someone actually outbid him but I canceled their bid as it was 0 feedback and they didn't contact me. Anyway, looks like all is well and it's shipping to your area, actually....
