Just curious... has anyone verified what waveform is produced by this inverter?

    Thanks!

For the stock TRD I don't know for sure but it's probably modified square wave which isn't suitable for some devices.

I'm looking at an AIMS 600W pure sine wave inverter for the 2005 Tundra (same tow package 130A alternator and 27F battery as the 2nd Gen Taco). $149. 50 amp DC drain, 5 amp AC output, 90% efficiency.

An 800W inverter seems too much at 66 amps DC draw on the alternator and battery. Theoretically it could be done, even 1000W drawing 83 amps DC. But that seems like too much of a strain on a stock system.

The stock 400W inverter pulls 33 amps DC from the DC system, so a jump to 50 amps DC seems doable, more than that could be a problem.

AIMS 600W inverter out of the running. Too tall at 3.2 inches. There's about 3 inches of clearance under the front driver seat from my measurements and that's my preferred mounting spot.

Looks to me after some research a Samlex 600W model SSW-600-12A pure sine wave is the best bet since it's the shortest I've seen at 2.2 inches height. As I said on the other thread http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/226311-inverter-questions-2.html I'll have to fuse it and AWG it accordingly since it has a 1200W surge capability. That's 100 DC amps so 2AWG from battery to driver seat would be the right thing to do.
