The overhead outside air temp/compass display on my 07 TRD suddenly went dead. I read about a fix from another member and tried it. It involved removing the overhead console and resoldering both ends of the two '510' resistors on the pc board. The instructions were 'bang on'! It works again. The total time it took was about 20 minutes. His estimated cost for solder at 10 cents was somewhat high. I estimate I used about one cent's worth!:) This little fix probably saved me a few hundred dollars.

SWEET! Saved you some big bucks as opposed to buying from the dealership.

Welcome to TW. Now you can spend you money on mods!

Anytime fog mod, debadged, drop in k&n, smoked taillights, led inside and out,

That quick fix is what got me to join TW. Now I'm obsessed with modding my truck! Its a mixed blessing I suppose

You won't believe this! After I did this fix, I called our local Toyota dealer to get a quote on fixing this problem to see how much money I saved. As usual, the answer was, it can't be repaired - it will have to be replaced. Hold onto your hat: 1 1/2 hrs of labour ($140) PLUS a whole new overhead console at $1,750.00 !!!!!!!! Apparently they are not able to order console replacement parts.
