    Agreed, the sensor is a pretty simple thing. I would expect it to either work - or not.
    In another thread someone had had a bad connection in the harness under the cowl, increased resistance made the dash 'see' a lower temp than it was.. I may be digging around a bit.

    Anyone know the temp sensor part number?

    I looked it up and found 2 part numbers...

    88790-06010 or 88790-06020

    The first says interchange is 2013 to 2019, the second says 2016 to 2021

    If it had snow on it and froze it could have let some moisture in, then things went back to normal when it dried out. I'd probably check the connector at the sensor for any moisture or corrosion. Clean it up and add some dielectric grease to the pins, then wait and see if it happens again.
