Are we talking in the city here? Or more rural. Unless you were in close proximity to the station itself the heat bubble effect in urban areas can be drastic.

Download the weather channel app. I think it's more accurate.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
Just because it may say on the list that it "appears" to have a specific feature listed-basically doesn't mean that your vehicle actually has it?

What the manufacturer is saying is that your rear view mirror has the "capability" to show/indicate outside temperature but will only do so "IF" there is an external outside temperature sensor installed on the vehicle.

Same goes for just about anything else, Home-link, compass, etc.

Double check to make sure that your vehicle does have an outside temperature sensor installed behind the front end (grill) of your truck, normally located on the frame bracket, in front of the radiator?

If it is not there that answers your question as to why you don't have a temperature reading/indication on your rear view mirror?

If there is one located there and your rear view mirror is not giving you an outside temperature reading/indication, then you have a problem somewhere, starting with the outside temperature senor-wire/connectors-or mirror?
