Whatever. The 3G Tacoma was in development for a decade before released, as are all massive model changes of this nature.

No car company, with a long standing model line up, stops the development of the model’s future form in-between model cycles. They are already thinking about the 4th Gen Tacoma (as we already know in regards to the F1 platform talks).

You may not like the 3G Tacoma, but it was not “rushed to market”. That is just ridiculous (no offence).

I have an inside guy at Toyota as well, and he told me the pre-release R and D on the 3G Tacoma was the most intense and lengthy in the history of the company, as there was so much at stake.

    Prove me wrong.....

Hmm. Probably the clearest comment I have read on this site regarding the surprising problems with this truck. Nice job dad. It will still be a good truck for your boy. My wife doesn’t give a lick about any of this crap. She likes it. Im the neurotic one. I use ECT every time I drive. It helps alot.
Forums are good and bad. I spend too much time here. Thats for sure
    Good luck OP

Think this way.. You truck most likely misfires, has torque converter shudder, only gawd knows the level of tranny fluid.. Did they fix rev hanging in 19's?

A reasonably technical explanation of why they purposely make rev hang happen in new cars, like it or hate it.

I seriously enjoy reading through posts like these being my profession is working on and fixing cars. To shake thing up a bit to most of the people complaining I guess you should have bought a manual lol

Then you get to complain about Rev Hang in the MT, and the too-tall MT reverse gear, and the clunking sound when the truck goes over a bump, and you still need the MT version of the Tune for more torque, and you need an accumulator delete for proper clutch pedal feel, and then your clutch pedal squeaks, and then you post “burned my clutch at 15k”, and then......

I digress......this is TacomaWorld. It’s sometimes best viewed as a therapy session for guys who hate their trucks.

Rev hang is built into all cars for a reason. Too tall manual reverse gear? Are you serious with that one? You must have been the reason they remade ghost busters with all women. You know what my truck isn’t going to do in the first 100k miles of ownership, leave me stranded. Something that couldn’t be said had you bought an American truck. Oh ya and the best resale value of any car or truck

I just can’t help it when people all over this forum complain about things that were designed into the truck and not actual problems. It’s like everyone was forced to buy their truck without test driving it

Believe me, I feel the same way. As testosterone levels continue to decrease in the male population of North America, the complaining about one’s truck goes up proportionately.

Back in the 80’s, when fellas still had some mojo, they were happy with a 4-banger Toyota with like 84HP.
