OV Tune for 2021 TRD Off Road, Georgetown, TX

I have a new Tacoma and I’m looking for an OV Tune. I’m looking for someone in the Austin area that has an open license that can flash my 2021 TRD Off Road?
I appreciate any tips or recommendations!

I have the same truck. fill me in on what the tune will do??

 

The three main goals for the tune are
1. Drivability (fixes the problems with shifting, holding gears, removes the throttle limits, etc...)
2. Power, will have a noticeable horsepower increase (20-35)
3. MPGs, most users report 1-3 MPG improvements over the stock tune

The cost is only 250, and includes a free second tune if you ever need to fire the road (if you make major changes like gear size, tires, etc...)

 

Does this void the factory warranty?

 

Well, that's a great question. Per the Magnusson-Moss act (the Federal law that governs manufacturer warranties for everything from your truck to your electric toothbrush), a manufacturer can only deny a warranty claim if they can reasonably demonstrate that something you did (via aftermarket parts/work or misuse of the product) actually caused the failure. In the case of OVTune, the manufacturer cannot see the tune, so they would be unable to ever deny a claim based on it being tuned.

I've verified this myself (I have Toyota's software that the techs use) and also by popping my tuned truck into Toyota service dept and literally asked them to plug in and see if anything looked 'off'.

So long story short, if they could see it, they could deny warranty claims, but they can't... and they likely never will be able to.... but I can't read the future.

 

I’m intrigued by this. Last car was an Audi where this was a huge issue, they could see the tune. Guys who were out of warranty or didn’t care would tell them to avoid having it wiped out.

@cspcrx , I used to have a Beemer and the Cobb AccessPort, and I'd have to flash back to stock any time I needed warranty work done. Man that drive to the service dept was painful, felt like someone was choking my car lol. Then I'd flash it back in the parking lot after getting it back so it wouldn't suck on the drive home haha.

That's def one thing I like about the way OVTune works. If you plug in as a service tech, it just shows the standard stuff for your ECU ID.
