I had my 2016 Tacoma V6 2WD truck tuned a few of years ago with what was called OV tune. It really woke up the engine but there are a couple of things I don't like and I wonder if there is a fix.

    1. The transmission can sort of hang under hard (probably near full throttle) acceleration like when getting on the freeway. It will hesitate to shift up and sort of just pause in limbo with the engine at high rpms. It probably happens at around the legal speed limit. I'm not sure if it is actually slipping and/ or hanging mid shift or it is just sort of running out of rpm with nothing going on.
    2. In the situation above, it will go above redline which does not seem good for the engine. It doesn't seem to have any kind of limit at all. If nothing else, it would be nice to force an upshift a bit before redline.

Is there a fix? If it makes a difference, I'm in the Sacramento area. Copy of tune is attached.Truck Tune 4-12-21.jpg

I've been looking for a tune update for my 2017 as well. In addition to the previously mentioned OTT, the other one I'm looking at is from YotoWerx. They'll probably have a tuner in your area that you can work with to get a new tune flashed.
