Hey Driving 2019 TRD PRO MT

Just got OVTune delivered last week and I'm trying to get some more info about the Tune Options - please note I've been searching through the threads but they are 1000's of pages long so even using find and site search it's pretty daunting.

I started with the 1.05 Base tune and have drove it about 200 miles - huge improvement especially coupled with accumulator delete and changing out MT fluid for Redline.

What do the options mean in 2.0 ? When I go to the 2.0 tunes and do BaseOL it just says error downloading file (I'm assuming this means it's not available for my ECU calibration). The SuperFOB is available, is this the equivalent of "performance" in 1.05 ? I'm assuming Dump is for trucks with custom exhausts ?

Other then clarification, my specific question is: Goal being balanced drivability and decent mpg, if BaseOL for 2.0 is unavailable for my Calibration is my best bet staying on 1.05 BaseOL ? Are they're any custom tunes available from community for this truck ?

i also have a 19. i went 92 prem superfob or something along those lines, i forget the nomenclature. the superfob is the enhanced, more aggressive throttle response. dump is for ovts custom dump tubes. if you dont have those i would just use superfob.

Thanks for the reply. How’s your fuel consumption mpg/wise ?

@DavidOverLand: i went ovt maybe 1.5 months so far. tbh my mileage been about the same which was always around 17-19mpgs, but the only difference is im paying for premium instead of regular, so on that front i guess it would be a net loss. the main and only factory to me though was the driveability. the whole dynamic on how my truck drives is different now. this is meant to be a good thing. i have nice useable power all the way through the powerband, not only when i hit 3.5k when vvti kicks in. THAT was my biggest factor with going tuned. i didnt like how that sudden surge happens when basically you just looking for a little passing power and your truck just takes off like a rocket lol. now, it cruises when i want it to and it blitzes when i want it to. ovt is totally worth, but you dont need to take my word for it ;).

Nice. Ok as long as it’s not dropping it to 12mpg. Even with the 1.05 base tune mine drives orders of magnitude better, it actually reminds me of my old BMW 325i MT.

I got about 21 mpg on the 1.05 Basetune (mostly highway) for anyone looking for reference points. Gonna do the 2.0 SuperFOB today and see how it differs.

Would love if anyone could tell me if there is a 2.0 base available anywhere for this ECU calibration ?

'19 6 speed here. I haven't done the base tune to compare, but I have the 04B41_2.0_Prem_SuperFOB tune

No measurable difference in MPG versus stock, at first I actually got a little better mileage but that has since leveled off. I've always used premium gas and was told when I flashed this was my best choice and I've been very happy. As stated, this tune is for better throttle response than the base versions, but for those of us without their dump tubes.

I've yet to do the accumulator delete, it's been recommended by everyone that is tuned with a manual, I'm excited to eventually do it, and it's good to read your post about it making such a big difference in driveability.

'19 Sport M/T here, best response overall is 2.0 Superfob premium as stated (I run 91E0 gas, because that's what I get for premium in my area).
My mpgs are pretty consistent no matter which file I use (19-20 highway if I keep it <65).

ADM is a great mod, cheap n easy. Best bang for the buck you can do on a 3rd gen M/T IMO. I went the delete route on my '16, but decided to just dremel it with the '19. Yeah it's not reversible, but on the other hand you'd have to not only remove the accumulator from the truck but also disassemble it to know what I did lol.

That echoes what I've been hearing Frank - for one reason or another I've been on the fence to do this but just haven't got to it. I'm kind of intimidated by it, at least getting it bled, but I'll take the plunge soon enough. If it is possible to get the air out of it after you took it completely apart I shouldn't have too many issues with the line bypass method!

2.0 base is available. Are you on the most up to date version?

I don't think 1.3.3 is right looking at your picture.

You have vf tuner I'm assuming?

    @tonered can answer this

Not to steer this thread off track but bleeding it is super easy. Clamp off the soft line up by the MC, do your business underneath, put a clear rubber hose on the bleeder and crack it, and then unclamp the line and let gravity do it's thing until you get a solid stream out of the hose.

I changed MT fluid to Redline and added liquid moly saw moderate improvement in downshifting. Then waited a week or two did the accumulator delete, saw massive increase in clutch response. I honestly still don’t like the feeling when I downshift to first at stop sign - feels like I’m breaking something and you have to force it in but it’s better then stock.

I have VF tuner yes. Updated the software per instructions after I did the installation. I’ll take a look again tomorrow but when I hit download for 2.0 base it just says error downloading file currently.

I did 2.0 superfob flash this morning and drove about 10-20 miles back and forth to the beach and to be honest I liked the 1.05 base better for lower gears. Haven’t put enough miles to say definitively but that was my first impression.

EDIT: For reference, I confirmed I'm updated to newest version, this is the message I get when I got to download any of the 2.0 base tunes.

Also if you clamp the hose right under the clutch fluid cylinder under the hood you loose very little fluid. My experience was that bleeding is minimal with elbow mod. If u dremel the accumulator you’ll probably need more bleeding though.
