Ever since July, I've been searching for a 4x4 truck. I moved and now live on the side of a mountain in WV. My driveway is about a quarter mile long and resembles a mini Black Bear Pass, minus the epic views and rocks... lol... Then I have 6 miles of hilly dirt and gravel roads until I get to pavement. I love it.

I was thinking full size diesel at first, but truck prices this year are redonkulous. Tacoma's are no exception. I've been looking for a 2nd gen Access cab, TRD O-R. Looked for them (and went to) in NC, VA, WV, PA and finally found one that isn't rusty and everything works as it should. Sealed the deal at the dealership (I have a serious distaste for dealerships btw) but now have to wait for them to do the frame replacement before I can go get it. I am expecting less than 3 weeks.

TBH, the frame didn't look bad at all. Not sure if Toyota makes their dealers do the work on any tacos with an open recall that come through their possession or if the dealer just wanted to do the work and get paid by Toyota for it. (The sales manager made it sound like they lose money on the replacement) Anyone care to shed some light on that?

Anyfunk, I always join a forum for a new to me vehicle to learn the ins, outs and quirks of the vehicles from a crowd who lives it. So I'm sure I'll learn a lot and have some questions along the way.

I think the truck may be listed in the header of my post, but if it isn't, it's a 2011 ACLB Base model, with a TRD OR and towing package. According to the Toyota owners page, it seems to have been ordered with specific items for the buyer's needs. It has 100k on it. Not sure if it has had the timing belt service yet, so I'll need to find that out.

So yeah, I'm excited to go get it. Can't be soon enough as we're supposed to get 12-18" of snow tomorrow. lol...

Any questions, insight or recommendations welcome. In the meantime, I'll be checking out the forum.

    Like, so many.
If you don't already have a bed mat, I really recommend those. Also, be sure to check out your regional forum. Congrats on the truck!

Great idea for sure! I'll be tossing logs and firewood into the back.

Thanks for the welcoming! The dealer called this morning and said the truck is done and ready for pick up. So tomorrow morning we head out. It's over 4 hours to this dealer, so it's an all day trip. Fingers crossed everything is put pack together right and works as it should. Stoked...
