Thanks but i Would like to see how a long bed looks if there's any difference for the length and if you're able to fold down the softopper..

It looks the same, I had mine on for most of the summer. You cannot fold it down while rack is on. But as you can see the rear can be rolled up, as can the sides . I kept mine rolled up in rear except when traveling highways . But while out fly fishing, kayaking or hiking I typically had the sides up for easy access to the bed. I recently bought a bedslider so in the future I'll just leave the sides down.

The length of the rack is the length of the bed as shown here .image.jpg

Put my order in for a black powder coated one last week. Spoke with Ben for about an hour about various ideas and uses. Looking forward to getting it. Pictures will be posted once I get it installed.

I just wish I could use it with my hard canopy. I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind using a soft top - especially if you can't put it up and down while the rack is on.

I'm not dissing the product - it looks bitchin' and the OP seems like a stand up guy.

I thought you'd be able to put the canopy up and down w/o removing rack.

I had a soft top for my 86 Taco. It was nice. But, up here in rainy land - with a dog - I really appreciate the hard canopy.

You can roll up the sides and the rear. Keeps your stuff concealed from unwanted eyes . Plus keeps dust off my fridge. At the same time I have my RTT on top and my kayaks

the reason for not offering a rack for over a hard canopy is every canopy is different. It would be almost impossible to mass produce a bed rack that fits over all hard canopys.
The only real reason you would ever need to fold up a soft topper is to haul taller items in the bed, with the rack you would not be able to fit the tall items anyway so there really is no need.
With how the soft topper folds the rack would have to be about 6" higher to allow it to fold.
The reasons for the soft topper are the same as reasons for a hard canopy, keep things dry and out of the elements.
You also end up with a more versitle system IMHO,
The topper and rack can be removed as an entire system in a matter of minutes by one person,
The sides and back can still be rolled up for the hot days with the dog while keeping the bed shaded, the topper can slide out the back by one person, with the sides rolled up there is still acsess to the side of the bed, ect, ect.
I can go on and on about the pros of a soft topper but the reality is until now there were no good rack options that allowed the use of a topper and for me that was a necessity. The soft topper has been perfect for my needs and think it will be for many others as well.

Here are a few teaser pics of the quick mount rtt load bars and new Awning brackets.
The idea is to install the load bars to the tent and the will stay attached to the tent, then the cradle over the main load bars and bolt to existing holes in the side of the rack. The awning brackets cat attach to the tent bars or the rack,
This way if you want to remove the tent and awning as a unit you can.
Takes about 5 min to remove and reinstall the tent.
These really could be used for any accessory that needs to be easily and quickly removed. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Cannot see this working with a tonneau cover unless you made significant changes to the cover's mounting system.

Suuuuper interested as well. This is exactly the kind of setup I’m looking for. Softopper with a bedrack overtop and a hardcover RTT.
