@Dissent86 love your designs and amount of thought you put into your builds. I was going to get your bed rack but ended up getting a GFC instead of a softtopper/rack/rtt combo. With that said, could you modify a cab rack to work with a go fast camper? The GFC is supposed to sit ~0.5" above the shark fin and extends to just behind the front door.

3rd gen tacoma dcsb for refefence. I know i want to get a cab rack eventually and yours is top notch so hoping itll work out. Ill be picking the GFC up in september so I have time.

If there was a rear door option, I'd be putting in an order right now!!

    Thanks!
Unfortunately I don't think it would work as the rack set about the same.

Dang, I was hoping it could somehow be modified to work. Thanks.

I am following the aluminum skids thread now, love that set up and how much coverage it provides.

    Exactly...

I ordered because this is a foregone conclusion; and that I will be one of the first recipients of it to secure the bed.

If I were you (clearly), I’d go ahead and order so soon. It might well end up your delivery time...

Early adopters typically get a ‘Bro’ price...Right Ben?

    Maybe?

    We could say we did...?

I'm heading to overland west in a few days and would love to see this rack system in person. Anyone going have this setup?

Finally got around to the side mount bike rack tray. A 1up roof mount bike rack is pictured

That's probably the most sensible bike rack mounting I have seen.

    I like!

As for attachment, will this be an option to have/use with out your bed rack? I eventually plan on buying your rack system, just waiting to get back to state side from my tour in Germany. However I would like to have an option for my bikes in the meantime.

My apologies because these questions have probably been answered, but I got lost trying to read all 24 pages of comments. lol
So, the cab rack and bed rack are two separate pieces, but their crossbars are the same height over the entire combined length of the truck? This is important for me because I have a 17' canoe I want to carry.
The cab rack utilizes the pre-existing holes, so no drilling into the cab is required?

Random weird thought/idea: I like the idea of the side panels/doors on the bed rack - how difficult would it be to fabricate removable panels for the gaps between the crossbars on top of the bed rack, so that the rack itself then becomes a rudimentary "shell"? Would aluminum be too heavy, and if so, what about some sort of shatterproof plastic? Hell, they could be translucent, like a skylight.

Tangential question about those awnings: can they be mounted backwards so that when deployed, it covers the bed, too? Obviously the "porch" portion would be smaller, but your bed becomes sheltered now.

Man, keep up the great work, seriously.

Am I the only one who glanced at that picture and whose first thought was "WTF does he have mounted to that hitch?" lol

Dang it, Ben, you are killing me here! I should get my racks in soon, and now you release pics of this bike mount! Seriously though, I have loved that style mount since I first saw one a while back. You are building some great looking, practical stuff.

Ps. What are the two knobs you have in the slot on the cab rack?

I gotta say, I’m thrilled Ben is getting back to his designing new stuff for his rack system. I’m very much anticipating the completion of the back door to the bed rack.

And yes...what are those knobs for, Ben?

How much is that side mount bike rack? Also, do you have any lopro awning mounts in stock?

I am curious if the side mount bike mount can be used without the bed rack. Also curious about the awning mounts. Habe more pictures showing these, how they mount, etc?

So with this rack, you can add doors and bike racks down the road?
