Love the idea and design. Very different than big name companies. I'd rather support a TW member. Do you have a finalized date on the product with everything mentioned in the first post or pics?

    Thanks!
I'm hoping to have the finalized rack in the next week or 2, I will be headed to cruise Moab the beginning of May for some testing, if all goes well and no changes are needed I will start production when I get back. I would say we are looking at end of May beginning June if all goes as planned.

@Dissent86 Will this rack be 3rd gen specific, or will you produce a 2nd gen option?
Since this will be modular, how difficult would it be for the top/horizontal portion to be removed to load tail/large object, while still leaving the vertical portions?
Here's an example of what I'm talking about; post #422:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...pack-rack-softopper-compatible.455712/page-22

I've been hoping someone would make this a standard option rather than a one off kinda thing.

Hoping to get my hands on a 2nd get for fitting but at first it will be 3rd gen specific.
Unfortunately I don't think it would work with the crossbars removed as there would be no structure left.
The entire rack is pretty easy to remove off the base plates if needed though.

Here are some drawings of the doors, these will lock but also be easily removed when unlocked.
They will be supported by gas springs. These will also double as accessories mounts for maxtrax, rotopax, axe, shovel ect. Hopefully I will have the prototype by the end of next week!

@Dissent86 I'd love to be a guinea pig too! I'm also considering the Voodoo but your design would work better because I'm purchasing a softtopper as well. I'm in Las Vegas and always do road trips out to Carlsbad to surf.

Do you have a 3rd or second gen?
Either way I would like to check fitment on the 2nd gen as well.

I talked to my laser cutter yesterday, looks like we are on track to have a complete rack with doors by the end of the week.
Once the rack is finalized I will get started on all the bolt on accessories mounts.

I like the design a lot. Good job there! I just hope you can make it work with a truck bed cover. Otherwise it's a solid effort.

That's really nice, man. How does it attach to the bed/bed rails? Wondering if it would work with my factory tonneau.

    Thanks,
It may fit but I need to get my hands on a tonneau for fitment, it is a full rail mount so notches will need to be made to accommodate the cover.

    Got the door mounted tonight!
Should have the final rack and 2 doors tomorrow. I'm pretty happy with the outcome!

Alright guys, here is the final rack!
I have many more bolt on options in the works as well. Here are some picks without the tent or top. The goal is to have the cab roof rack that's in the works to bolt to the cab and the load bars be the same height as the bed rack, due to the curve of the cab it seams that the bed rack is higher than needed but that's not the case.
The rack weighs 44lbs and the doors are 11 lbs each. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
More details and pricing to come.
