    Mods are currently being changed .....
    Sounds like that may have done it. Although I'm surprised I see on here that some recommend burping with the radiator cap on and some recommend doing it w/ it off. I think the service manual says to put it back on, warm it up, let it cool, fill and repeat as necessary. The last car I had I did it w/ the radiator cap off, like you did. Never had a problem. Just did a coolant drain/refill today and did it w/ the radiator cap on.
