Over Softopper Bed Rack

Did you ever settle on a rack to order?

 

Yes I got the last @SOS CONCEPTS Aluminum Over the Softopper Rack. Should be here this week

Should have said the last tubular rack from them. They changed the design

 

The changed the design to a square type so glad I got the one I did

 

Ahhhhh you bastard! Their OG rack has always been on my list of ST compatible racks

 

I lucked out yes

 

Not sure on shipping as it was supposed to be at Fastenal Friday but Fastenal has been called and they have nothing

 

So where can I find a fabricator who can build this? This one is perfect.

Does it follow the lines of the Softopper, especially the rear of it? Can't tell from pics? Any side profiles?

 

No. It doesn’t match the angle of the rear of the Softopper if looking at it from the side. We did on the prototype but moved the rear tube vertical and in line with the end of the cleat rail inside the bed for strength reasons. If you are standing at the rear of the truck, it does match the taper of the Softopper sides. Hope this picture helps some.

So is it really universal though for 2nd and 3rd gen? The toppers are different heights. Any 3rd gen rack pics?

It is. Bed heights and cab heights are different between the generations but in the end they become the same dimension.
