Hey guys. Please point me in the right direction if there is a thread covering this that I missed.

I’m planning on upgrading to 265/75r16 tires in the future but I park my truck in my garage under my house and there isn’t much extra clearance. I know these tires are an inch taller than stock so I’m expecting half an inch of added overall height. I was curious if anyone has ever or can measure the overall height of their truck, both to the roof and to the satellite antenna. I have to clear the door with the antenna but I have to clear the opener arm with the roof.

Also bonus points if anyone has 75s AND 5100s up front set to one notch over stock. Looking into 5100s later as well. I know that’s a lot to ask but thought I’d try. Appreciate any help with measuring or at least sending me in the right direction of finding that info.

I have never measured my truck as I have plenty of clearance for my garage but your reasoning makes sense. Any idea on how much clearance you have now?

It will actually only be a 1/2" taller.

No, you're truck will be .5 inch taller with that scenario. You divide by 2, half of your diameter gain is in the wheel well. Half above axle, half below.

I have around 73" to the garage door and a little less to the bracket.

Ive estimated my overall height after the tires and after the shocks by assuming half an inch for tires and just under an inch for the shocks but real world numbers and on paper numbers are rarely the same with stuff like that.

Buy a tape measure and measure the truck then measure the garage door. Garage door height - Truck height+0.5" = (if negative bad, if positive good)

I have a tape measure and I have measured and I have estimated but estimation and real numbers are rarely the same. I've also checked clearance as I pulled in a little at a time and measured the closest spot which is around an inch. Yeah I get it height+more height=new height. I passed 1st grade so I get it. I also get that the height will be added to the front and if the truck hits it will hit at the back of the cab (because of the angle I enter the garage at) so the height added to the front doesn't translate 1:1 in the middle of the truck. That's why I asked out of curiosity if anyone had measured. No biggie if no one has.

After re reading that it came of a little ashole-y but all my typing does for some reason. Or maybe I AM just as asshole who knows

Also get your buddy around the same approx weight to sit in your truck when you measure if clearance is critical because I’m assuming you’ll be driving into and out of the garage and not pushing it with your rig unoccupied.
