I have an automatic. When offroading in 2nd or low gear do you want the overdrive on or off, or does it make a difference?

Unless you're doing high speed desert runs then it doesn't really matter because you won't be going fast enough. OD on just allows the trans to go into the highest gear when it needs to, and OD off prevents it from going into that last gear. For example if you're decending a long grade you can turn off OD to help slow down because it will downshift one gear.
