the dipstick is little more than a reference, not an exact measurement. The people that made the engine know how muck oil you need to add in a change. Add the 6.2 quarts and leave it at that. I don't even check the dipstick right after a change, I give about 1000 miles before I do.

Reading the dipstick is tough, that's been addressed. Just go with 6 next time and not even worry about it. 6 Qt. gets me half to 3/4 on the scale depending on how warm the oil is when changed.

Adding 6 is not underfilled. You think when you change the oil, all of it comes out lol?

It does when you connect a high pressure solvent line to the filler then follow with since compressed air.... Maybe.

Look, an Extractor is as exotic as I get on an oil change, YMMV lol.

That's amateur league. You ain't living' until you change the oil by placing tannerite all around the block and then hitting it with a .308 round. Surefire way of evacuating all of the oil....most of the internals as well...and the front end...sometimes more.

6.2 quarts isn't the amount of oil in your engine, its the amount you add in an oil change.

Unless it was dead empty, then it would be 6.2 quarts.

    Cheese and rice.

The manual says 6.2 qts. is the capacity of the 3.5.

I can't believe I am having this conversation.
