Hey all, I'm new to this forum and have a question or three...

I've got a 2011 Tacoma PreRunner (not the TRD) and am trying to mod the console to install the temperature/compass display.

I was able to get the display (accessory meter) the vehicle came wired with the ambient temperature sensor. Now I want to modify the garage door cover to accept the display. I'm fairly good with this kind of thing, but Murphy's Laws apply whenever you try something new.

So my question is: Does anyone know where to get an extra tan garage door opening cover for this console? I haven't found any online and Toyota just wants me to buy a TRD console at about 900+.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks... Unfortunately, I've already checked those. I work in a Body Shop and have quite a few contacts for parts, but nobody has this item. It just seems to me there would be a huge market for someone to develop a cover that would accomplish this. I've even considered looking into overlays to hide the space around the display. But at a 16th of an inch thick may not work too well.

I just wanted to update anyone who was reading this thread. It turns out that the console has been designed with no replacement parts (other than the accessory meter) available.

Toyota uses three trim levels for this particular product. Sport, Sport 1, Sport 2 and the tan non sport model. The Sport models are grey and have the accessory meter. The only way you can get the trim bezel (or any covers for that matter) is to purchase the 900 complete console.

This is probably due to the fact that this is a very new model and they just haven't gotten around to producing the parts as seperate items yet. Give it a few months or a year and I'm sure there will be parts available.
