I don't get it.. I am having LT put on my EXPO rig as I type this. Hundreds of mile on rough dirt roads per trip beat the crap out of my stock suspension. Was going to SAS but LT seems like a better option for me at this point. May still SAS later on but who knows..

    Expedition Rally :)

I wouldn't be particularly thrilled with doing a LT Expo rig on a second gen, because they second gen's are so damn wide to start with.
But a LT 1st gen (camburg, TC) is only 2" wider WMS-WMS than a stock second gen.

Mine is a first gen, after the LT it will be about the same as a stock second gen so that's not too bad. Just need to figure out what to do with the rear, I have Dakar HD leaf springs in the back to help with the load carrying (RTT. shell, gear). I want the rear to match the performance of the front, but I am not sure if I could do a SUA that could support the load I carry :(

Just don't use deaver f55's or f67's. Don't know what kind of load you carry, but I changed out my rear springs for the same reason. The f67's just don't hold up to the extra weight.

That said, you have a couple options. You can call up Deaver and get a custom pack made based on the weight you carry. They will essentially be the same length as f67's, but the leafs will either be thicker or extra leafs added in.

I ditched my Deavers and went with the All-Pro/Engage 50T spring pack. Just to give you an idea of ride height, this is 2 full size spares, 10 lb CO2, tank, 2 Ton aluminum jack, 10 gallons of spare fuel in NATO cans, and two pelican cases filled with spare parts, misc tools, and random shit. I've got 8.5" of uptravel and 8" of downtravel with this load:

    LT front end FTW!!

But I'll keep my current leaf for the load capacity

I don't know what the WMS to WMS measurements are for 1st and 2nd gens but they can't be that much different, unless Monte has wheel spacers, I can't remember though. I am running a 16x8 wheel with 4.5" BS and I got my 10" tires though this gap on Elephant Hill in Moab just fine, where as Monte's 12.5" tires rubbed down both sides of this.

This pic is of Joe (bulhas) he was just playing around driving on the side there. He was running 315's at this time (so about a 12.3" tire) and he was tight but didn't rub going down it.

    They actually are substantially different.
    1st gen = 60"
    2nd gen = 65"

And to put things in perspective
    1st gen tundra = 66"

Obviously wheel backspacing, tire width, and optionally spacer width all play into overall track width.

Tack on an additional 7" wider for either 1st or 2nd gen for the major LT kits out there.

I see. So at the same backspacing Monte's tires would make him as wide as me, but for some reason I am wanting to say he is running wheel spacers as well.

Anyway, though because of all the things that can come into play 2nd gens aren't much wider really. We just have a fatter body that makes us look a lot wider.

I don't care about looks, and I also don't have Monte's mods memorized. I'm talking real numbers. Plain and simple, second gens WMS/WMS is 5" wider than first gens.
Look at the picture you posted and and think about how it would be trying to squeeze through with an additional 7" wider track width.

I've seen video of jeeps with full width axles squeeze through it, but it was tight and they were rubbin both walls.

Meh..my LT works just fine and I'm able to go just about anywhere I want comfortably. Plus having more wheel travel/ articulation in the front keeps my tires more planted keeping me more stable while on the rocks :cookiemonster:

You also have the AP kit, which is 3" narrower than the TC, Burg kits.
