Did someone say fridge? The fridge is the best camping accessory ever! No slush or meat goo. Always a cold beer! So easy. So good!

 

How long you had yours? It last a long time?

How much noise it make?

 

I worry about it getting jarred around while wheeling. I know it would be strapped down, but I would still worry about the internals getting rattled around.

 

This first pic is like a paradise, so of all of them really.

 

I've taken my 65 qt Whynter over every conceivable terrain there is for the past 3 years. Plenty of bouncing around on very rough roads and trails. Not a bit of trouble. If it were to quit tomorrow and I had to replace it, I would not hesitate and would feel I got my monies worth. I love this fridge. Would never go back to coolers.

 

I too have the 65qt Whynter fridge. Loooove the thing. Where do you keep yours? In the cab or bed? I recently had a kid and also have a dog so I can no longer put it in the cab. Trying to figure out the best way to secure it in the bed along with keeping it from getting too directly hit by the elements. It would be under my Bedrack and RTT but want to limit dust and stuff like that.

 

This is why i've been thinking about making a softtopper like cover for under my bed rack. Keep the dust and most the rain off my future fridge and other stuff in the bed.

 

Mine's in the bed. It's going on it's second season of being jarred, banged, rattled and keeping things ice cold. It's been rained on, through silt beds, mud all over, vents blocked, etc and it hasn't missed a beat.

Mounted stationary. May do a slide in the future.

 

Cool, I see you have some sort of cover on yours. Is that like an insulation type cover?

 

Sure is. Since it's in the bed with sun on it during the day, the cover really makes a difference.

Bahahahahaha. Honestly dude the fridge is awesome. My wife and I did a 3300 mile trip in 13 days last fall through California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho. We had every bit of food we needed in the fridge (that needed to be refrigerated of course) and it lasted us the entire time. Only thing we needed to make any stops for was Milk. It kept everything super cold and held a ton of stuff. Never looking back, love the fridge!

 

Mine is in the cab, behind the passenger seat.

Whynter does make a thermal cover but I don't see it keeping dust and elements out of the compressor area.

Time savings? Can you elaborate?

 

I did lose about 5 homemade tamales last trip to the sog. Was bummed when I got home to find they were mush!

 

^This. When it's time to go on a trip I walk thru the garage, open the shell and press one button on the fridge and walk away. About 30 minutes later it's all cold and I load it up with food. It's incredible. I never have to run to the store to get ice, or find ice during a trip. One less thing to monkey with while underway.

Get a fridge!

 

So does the fridge stay on the whole time or does it cycle so it doesn't drain the battery?
