Speaking from experience. I have a bunch of everyday useful things I keep in the truck at all times and a separate kit for wheeling or camping. It all fits and is neat and organized, but some things require 3 or 4 other things to get pulled out of the way before they can be accessed. I'm always on the lookout for a way to store and access thing more easily, but the Tetris champion in me will still cram as much as I think I might need into every useable space.

My truck is a work in progress, a lot of nice rigs to look at for ideas in this thread.

Oh yeah, it was a tough pill to swallow. Even still, it's sort of a bitter sweet purchase but I know once it get organized and used it'll start feeling worth it.

Originally, I thought about attempting to make my own to bring down the cost, but that didn't pan out as I'd have to buy new wood working tools and the materials (especially the slides) are very expensive. Metal was an option but I don't have sheet metal forming tools large enough so it'd be a bulkier and heavier design. Materials would add up once again.

Reasons I went with the ARB was it's all galvanized steel construction with replaceable ball bearings if that ever needed to happen. The top is marine grade ply with carpet. Also, ARB customer service is best in the business so I know if something goes wrong or a piece breaks I'll be taken care of.

As for a stove, I'd think so. I have one I'll try and fit in there when I get home and let you know.

I thought the same, I'd love to get two of these but it's probably more cost effective to build one myself or even have a cabinet maker make some.

I hear ya, i would love to build one, but not that talented in the wood working arena.

Was looking at a Decked system as it would give me two drawers and is easily removable. But their Mid Sized truck system wont be out till Mid 2017.

Are these drawers water and dust proof? The containers I'm using now are big and unwieldy, but ensure everything stays clean and dry. If these drawers keep the dust out, they might be worth their weight in gold.

Sliding drawer box looks good. It seems like it will serve you well.

I've ran into the same issue having to unpack the back of the truck to get the toolbox out.

My solution to this day is to continue to pack the heavy line tools into a hard sided case that gets packed into the front of the bed. Inside the cab, I keep a tube of metric ratchet wrenches, sockets, torque wrench, with a few screw drivers for quick access.

Eventually, all storage roads lead to truck shell. :D

    I kid, I kid. :D

There is a lot of truth to this statement. I had a shell for a while (Snugtop), but it fit terribly. It would either rub on the back window when flexing offroad or hang a bit to far off the back of the truck. And, either way, seemed to be a dust magnet. I swear my gear got dustier with that thing on...

That being said, I find myself looking at Craigslist for a used shell more and more often.

yeah that's very true as well. having a shell enlists it's owner in the war on dust intrusion. :D Too bad on the fitment issue. My shell fits really well. I am amazed at times that the stock clamps work in holding it firm from all the off-road vibes. I check them periodically, and they've always been good. :)
