I don't have comparison shots, but I did just take these for you to give you an idea of what the 1 piece looks like.

I'm not a rock crawler and don't push my truck to the extreme, so it shouldn't be an issue. It has a lot more ground clearance then I thought it would. Frame, exhaust and gas tank would be dragging by the time the driveshaft would hit something.

I'd think that ground clearance issues would be minimal at drive height since the shaft is still attached to the rear end at the same location. Which is confirmed by your pictures. If anything, there might be a greater chance of high centering or otherwise damaging the shaft if you find yourself at full droop over a large obstacle. But in that situation, that has more to do with driver skill (or lack thereof). Any modification to the underbelly should be taken into consideration when off-road and ultimately affect the line you choose. Just looking over your posts, I'm sure you don't/won't have that issue so I'm just speaking to those that think there would be a huge compromise with the one piece shaft. Great pictures of the truck BTW. Added to my mental notes.

Edit: it goes in line with people that think you gain a lot of clearance by going with a u-bolt flip kit. You do and don't really, but if you're dragging the u-bolt plate, you're most likely getting hung up in the lower shock mount too. Of course if you're upgrading the u-bolts, why not get an extra 3/4"? I went with the flip kit, but have never really seen any benefit from it, nor thought to myself, "Boy, I sure am glad I have those flipped u-bolts!"

The biggest problem with u-bolts in the thread-down position is damaging the threaded ends of the bolts, making it difficult to remove the u-bolt in the future.

Icon makes neoprene covers. Supposed to protect shaft/extend life. Whether it works is up for discussion. Same as my uniball caps and shaft guards.

Does this mean a Bob Ross patch is in the works?
