    ...too much shit to list.
There is an accepted industry standard for measuring a solid axle wheel travel, regardless of SUA or SOA. And it's not articulation. Articulation numbers can be augmented merely by adding wheel spacers, less backspacing on wheels, wider axle, wider tires, etc. and thus becomes an inconsistent way to measure travel. To eliminate those variables you measure bump to droop with nothing but the main leaf...but BOTH sides of the axle are at bump/droop at the same time, not flexed/articulated

My old first gen build showed all the steps with SUA in mind.

Honestly it's really the same for SOA, you just have to add a spacer the thickness of the removed leafs in order to measure properly for droop. @MojaveMadman just went through this with his SOA second gen in order to set his bump travel for hydro bumps. Just add a tape measure and you've got travel numbers. I highly encourage the read before throwing around travel numbers and trying to comparing to others.

I assure you, the claimed numbers from TC were based on the suspension being cycled. No SOA setup is going to get more travel over SUA with the same frame mount points because you can bump higher with SUA.

Appreciated. I'll follow up and read those links. I've heard of cycling the suspension using the main leaf only with either a chunk of wood or aluminum from Paul @HBMurphy

A small handful of select mods.
Watch that resi closely if it is touching the hydro bump mount. My line was rubbing through because it was touching that mount and moves up and down with frame flex. Just a word or caution.

    Yes.

I changed some things that would allow me to go back to having a tailgate and I think I am going to, if I can find a used for a decent price. Will go to a bumper mounted tire swing at that point.

I noticed the same thing. Had a decent size slice in both hoses. Ended up beveling the edges where the hose lays against the bump can and now all is well. Thanks for the bringing it up.
