I saw someone post this up the other day.....really slick setup and low profile compared to a soft shell RTT.

Giving me ideas......now to find the monies..... :(

This is my concern with a trailer as well. Ideally I would have a battery on it that would always charge another smaller battery and hidden GPS device. Not going to spend all that money to not invest in theft protection.

Also isn't another great reason for an RTT is to get off the ground in muddy and rainy conditions? I don't have one, only been ground tenting all my life but getting stuck in some bad storms last year with literal flooding of the camp area makes me very motivated to get an RTT in the near future.

That is another benefit. Plus it doesn't get dirty unless you use the annex for the most part.
I've thought about something like that. I find it easier to just load the bikes in the bed though and not having to store the trailer in the off time.

Ideally if I ever get an RTT, I'll rock a hitch mounted bike hauler. I don't go far with the R6 and it would be overly strong for a dirtbike. And then even more down the road, a trailer for RTT and bike in the bed. I want options.

    What hasn't been modified?
How does the rtt act up there? Thought about putting it there but ended up with a bed rack with removable center bars for rtt.

Do you notice any speeding or deformation of the roof?

Until I get a trailer that can do it all I'll do hitch carrier for the bike and RTT on top.

Nope I haven't noticed any difference. Hasn't effected my gas mileage either. I was getting around 13.5 when it was on the bed rack and still get that with it on the roof.

I did that for a trip. Even with my deavers the ass just bounced because of the weight of the bike being so far behind the axle. It was not an enjoyable drive

Ouch. What shocks do you have? Also, is the Deaver pack for heavy loads or is it a taller progressive spring that gives height but still a soft ride?

If you build a true off-road trailer, then you likely won't use a traditional tow ball on the hitch, which will act as a theft deterrent since they'd have to have your specific coupling to drive off with it.

There's a bunch of different options, but here's an example:

I've had an idea to make a trailer lock for a while but it will only work for trailer's with brakes.

ADS 2.5 with piggyback reservoirs. I have a deaver u402 pack with an aal that i had them add specifically for weight so its a heavier load pack. I personally think it rides great, between loaded with 2 bikes and trailer to nothing at all. Only when i had the hitch carrier did i have the side effect.
that specific one anyone could still take. again just not something id like to worry about or have to store when im not using it.

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
Have you put the R6 on one of those hitch mounted bike carriers? Just wondering how well that's work, all I've seen is small light stuff on them (scooters and dirt bikes)

Interesting. Do the ADS shocks have adjustable damping? It may help to stiffen up the shock to reduce bounce or oscillation of the spring. I may have to go that route with my RR shocks, I have Dakar's.

yes you can, i dont though. i also think its tougher to load a bike using the hitch carrier and tie it down by yourself. and since the rtt didnt effect my gas mileage its beneficial to just move it.

Not yet, I have seen them able to handle the loads of an R6 but haven't been able to try it personally yet.
