Anyone using a Renogy 100 w panel of a Prinsu rack? I was wondering how true the measurements are on them. Documents say that they are 47.3" wide and the Prinsu is 47.5" side to side. I'm thinking it will work just right but wanted to hear from some one that has one. Planning on picking one up to mount towards the rear of my cab rack so that I can angle it up serve as an air foil for my RTT when running down the road. Trying to kill two birds with one stone here. 75-80 mph Texas speed limits are hell on the tent cover. Something similar to the really crappy picture below.

The one I am looking at is hurricane rated according to the call I made to a local supplier. They could not give me a solid measurement because he didn't have one in stock.

@Nate87 had one under the bars, iirc the panel was about 1/4" too wide so he had to use some washers on the end of the cross bars so it would fit correctly. But since your using it on top of the bars and leaned back a little overhang shouldn't be a big deal

 

So they are just a touch wider then. That is what I figured. I think it should work then. Just have to build a hinge mount for the front and a strut to kick it up when the tent is on the bed rack.

 

Really glad this thread is over here. Been digging through the entire 543 pages and all of you guys and galls have some nice set ups. So much more peaceful here then over in the third gen forum.

on the solar lighting subject, Idk if it has been mentioned here, but I really liked @ghost SHIPs idea to get some with magnets on them, leave them on a roof rack or bumper and they will charge all day, then throw them around camp at night. I won't have a steel roof rack, but I'll be experimenting with them on my bumper or elsewhere.

 

There are definitely some window lickers over there.

 

How do the overland bound forums work? I became a member but it still tells me I'm not.

No prob. I activated my account, but still can't access the forums. Says I'm a guest. Funny thing is when I'm logged out, I can access the forums but not post. When logged in, it tells me I don't have permission to access. Kind of annoying.

 

When you log on, is your name show up at all? I do know 3 posts are required before some access is allowed.

 

Yeah my username (sixthsnail) shows, but it says guest under it? How do I link that with the fact that I bought the emblem/membership?

 

Did you put your emblem # in your profile? As I think wife had to put hers in a specific box in the profile. I'll ask her when she gets back. Although, maybe that will do it.

lol, go to profile and I think it's your member #. I may be way off but, I am pretty sure that is where your badge # goes. Although, I still dont know if that will activate your account.

I can't read any of the 3rd gen threads without wanting to smack someone. I wonder if it was like that when the 2nd gen came out.

 

You can go to the bottom of the page and hit "contact us". Tell them your info and member number and they will change your account to member.

You can post in the support forum. They are usually pretty quick about addressing issues.

 

Spent the weekend at a lake campsite that was wiped out in 09 from a landslide and ensuing wave and log jam. Oh and my icons exploded for the 3rd time in 2 years
