My sliders are on, next up is probably finishing the projectors and starting my storage/sleeping system for the bed. If you call camping, road trips, and light wheeling an expedition then I'm all over it  haha

I wanted them tucked in about another 1/4" and turned up about the same but overall very happy with them.

58" with signature slight taper getting wider at the rear and top plates

    Boom, there it is:

Well it looks like I'll be building a trailer this summer. Stay tuned for that. I'll probably do a build thread for it :)
Should be sick, but I want it to be as functional as possible so I'm looking fir your best ideas. What would you want on your trailer? Some stipulations...it needs to be ready for deep water crossings, so either float or be water toght, but probably needs both. I'll have the fridge, oven, propane, sink, shower, RTT, and various other things in it. One build that I liked a great deal had 24" actuators that actually raised the lid and sleeping platform so that the full awning could be used. Seems complicated, but I love the end result.

Any ideas would be helpful :)

Oh! And itll sit on 35's with its own IFS system

You'll probably want to build it without a tailgate like the old M416 military trailers. They were just a sealed box basically so that they could float. You shouldn't need to worry about the lid seal being completely water tight since the tub should keep it afloat. the M416s could carry a couple thousand pounds of ammunitions and still float.

If you can keep from having any openings or seams in the main tub (like for tailgate, drawers etc) the easier it will be to keep it watertight and bouyant.

take a look at Expedition Ops trailer. There are even some videos on youtube. He built it to use some gas struts to raise the tent platform like you describe. Much easier to make work without having to worry about electric actuators especially if your gonna have the thing in water.

Love that idea. I'll have to do some digging and find out where he got those struts. That looks ideal.

I was secretly hoping you'd chime in adam :)

It's just like a liftgate on a 4Runner or something like that. The gas struts just provide enough pressure to lift it. The locking pins are what keeps it up. Pull the pins and pull it down until the pins lock in the bottom setting.

I mounted (1) 3 gallon gas rotopax & (1) 2 gallon gas rotopax on my CBI swingout. Once my bedrack arrives I will mount (2) 2 gallon gas rotopax on the drivers side and then the (2) 2 gallon water rotopax on the passenger side using these mounts

Since I don't have my bedrack as of yet, I can only provide a pic of the rotopax mounted on my swingout
