How many of you running 35s didn't regear? I'm considering it, but not sure I want to take the fuel mileage/towing ability hit.

@Bebop is! I remember asking him about it a few weeks back, he was waiting to regear when switching to 37s

I keep forgetting to ask you what the trans temp code is so I can set it up on mine.

13mpg? Ouch. Maybe I'll stick with 285/70s. Actually, I was thinking about going up to a 285/75, which is more like a 34.

    35's with 4.56 and auto. Average 17mpg-ish.

I can manage without regear for now. It makes rock crawling extremely difficult with the powerloss and I'm manual transmission. Powerloss is not as noticable in a auto trans but its still there. Your just putting a ton of stress on the trans. If you tow heavy stuff I would not recommend 35s unless you regear. You'll never be able to maintain speed on the highways with any inclines.

If your not going to offroad hard trails it makes no sense to put 35s on in my opinion. But its not my truck so I dont care.lol

I've been on 285s and stock gears (for another week) for a while now and the power loss is very noticeable with all the extra weight on the truck. Hunts for gears on even the smallest of hills. Im looking forward to getting the power back...and locking both axles.

I do offroad with my truck plenty, but I've never been in a situation where I felt I really "needed" bigger tires to get where I wanted, it would largely be just because I like the look. Damnit, this is a hard decision!

I was wanting 255/85's and now you've almost talked me out of those.

I get around just fine without the front locked. Though that could have saved me in Odessa last week. But i did that same part last time without it so I blame it on my line choice.

Those are on my list too. From what I've seen/learned so far, it seems that the size of the tires isn't so much the issue, but the weight of the tires as they get bigger (of course, the bigger tires will affect your final gearing as well, but the weight has more an affect).

Those guys stacked a million rocks after I went thru. I try not to transform the trails. If you can't make it turn around and go add more mods.

I just looked at the BFG mud terrains and the 255/86-16 is 5lbs lighter than the 285/75-16.
