Most are pretty much flat dirt roads with an occasional washed out rut.

After looking around I quickly realized its most likely going to be dirt roads for the sake of dirt roads and not really "off roading" to get to camp spots in that area. Maybe call it overlanding and just enjoy it...?

Yeah 95% of trails up here are forest roads and pretty well maintained. That said, you can get off into a few trails and off shoots that are fun. Couldn’t tell you which ones are like that though.

We could also go south out of Williams, there seems to be more water (White Horse Recreation Site for example) south of I-40 but it seems to be less mountainous. More actual campgrounds but plenty of what appears to be wild camping as well. This route would put us right into the back side of Fort Tuthill skipping paved road traffic jams.

That should still be ok imo. May bring the pup too. Found this on the eastern end of white horse lake. A potential camping area that isn’t attached to the campground/rec area with relatively close access to water.

White Horse Lake seems pretty decent but Im slightly concerned about mosquitos especially with all the rain/snow this year. Maybe finding something along moving water is a better idea. Or something near no water hahaha.

If anyone will be AT Overland Expo, I'll can be found roaming around, in the Volunteer Tent, Main Bar, or the volunteer campground. (Inferno 3rd Gen, white off road teardrop camper, Honda -as seen in photo at left.)

Getting some decent rain up here starting yesterday and forecasted to continue each day through next Tuesday. Expect wet and muddy conditions for those of you camping for the expo.

That should work well for me as well. I’m in the west valley so I’m taking the 101 across anyways.

What time do you want to get to KC? Starts at 1, looks like its a 2.5 hour drive. I can leave any time.

I asked but didn’t get any answer to if it was sold out or not. I can’t RSVP on the link.

PM Taylor, it was “sold out” when I tried the other day and he hooked it up.
