Ok some have seen, picking up my 2021 the week after the first. Double cab.

Been working on trying to sort this out off and on since I started looking at them.

We camp, kayak, as well as my boys and I mountain bike (wife doesnt).

Trying to find the right set up to be able to get all that in/on the truck.

I have found one set up that looks promising (ill edit with the link) which is kind of modular. Bikes on the sides of it, states can put kayaks on top but not sure if its actually high enough to clear the cab. Leaves the bed for everything else.

Hoping you guys here have some ideas of brands/set ups to look at.

    Thanks.

Are you planning on getting a rooftop tent?

This thread might help you with your kayak mounting needs:

Edit: post #14 in this thread is probably the best solution to carry both kayaks and bikes at the same time. A bit expensive, though, when you factor in the cost of kayak mounts and bike mounts in addition to the cost of the rack.

You can also find different ways to mount your bikes here:

    Very much appreciate the help.

Isn't poat 14 yours? That's the one system I am really looking at right now, best solution short of making one myself. DIY is no problem except the vast amount time to design. I also can't powder coat myself.

I saw the bike rails, I gather those are just for a roof rack system. What Brand did you end up going with?

I am realizing after looking at those threads things are now as easy as I was hoping. I'll have 3 adult and a little kid kayak to deal with, plus 2 mountain bike (younger ones bike is small and easy to stuff wherever). Seems like a trailer is going to be required possibly to haul 4 kayaks and camping gear maybe. Would have to come up with something to make 2 layers under that or "hang" kayaks from it as well.

You could get a rack at can height to fit bikes in the bed with 4 kayaks on top going over the cab (see Yakima kayak racks).

Could get a hitch mount for bikes and put kayaks in the bed.

A roof rack for kayaks over the cab and bikes in the bed or a hitch rack.

You have so many options. You didn't specify lengths of kayaks or bed length either

I'm assuming 5ft bed. It's a double cab and looks the same length as every other one. No ling beds Kayaks will be 1 10ft 2 8ft and a kids kayak.

Hitch rack I have, may end up that way, bikes in the bed I'm not sure will work with needing space for camping gear. We have been using my trailer behind our pilot last summer because the cargo space is even with 3rd row down isn't enough (we don't minimalist camp, but don't go crazy either).

I'm just trying to see what my options are. I don't mind spending better money vs coble something together. Though spending money on things like Yakima systems i have an issue with, very pricey for what you get.

Cbi has a rack for the back of the bed with a bike mount on each side. Just watched a tacoma beast video and that was in there

Oh sweet. That would get the bikes off to the sides! Really insanely good price too.

As for kayaks, on top of the cab I don't know about. I'd like to be able to slide them out from the back. With my issues due to my car accident(which is why I am able to buy a brand new taco, normally I wouldn't spend this kind of money) trying to get them off the cab will likely be a bit much. I'm hoping to find something like that rack that holds your tent (we use ground tents) but tall enough that kayaks clear the cab.
