Oh shit really? Next time your up is a quick adjustment? Didn’t even think of it when you tuned the truck.

 

Cool so if I have the tune already how do I go about getting this tweak?

 

If you already have the tuning software, you can just contact whoever you got your tune from to provide an AGM-adjusted tune. Or if you need a tuner, just hit me up and I can re-tune you to an AGM-adjusted tune!

Are you tuning with 6.0 or 7.0 now that it’s out?

 

Hi, I only use our most up-to-date files. We do not have a version past our KDMax 6.0, however we did have to slightly tweak our files for certain 2021 builds with new ECUs. There are a few expanded maps that required a little extra attention, but our slightly adjusted files have been the only ones flashed to those ECUs since support was added. I believe a few of our guys got a little excited and believed that it was a completely different tune and thus started calling it 7.0. The only real difference is that these files are in the new tune file format of VFC instead of the old VFT format.

 

Okay, finally got to 5k and had the service performed, got the truck at the end of January. So now thinking about getting the tune, been following the thread in the 3rd gen forum.

I want to. Taking our first big road trip, to date only been to Prescott and Flagstaff, up to Durango CO. Thinking I would get it done before the trip.

 

I'm also interested on this. I do have a couple of questions if someone can provide their input would be most appreciated. Does the adaptive cruise control no longer work if I tune my truck?
How does it perform off road? 4lo throttle and other slow speed functions are what I'm concerned about. I have a 21 trd OR

Adaptive is not disabled, but there are no tunes that work with it. If you press your CC button until “constant” pops up on the cluster, that will take advantage of the tuned maps. Otherwise, adaptive will always default to stock mappings and drive like stock.

I will say that the highest throttle may not be suitable for offroading, but 4lo throttle is untouched for that reason. You also have a few throttle options with L, LT, SLT, and WifeTip. Those with heavier trucks tend to stick with L or LT, and most on stock tend to go with LT or SLT. No one really likes WifeTip haha.

as I understand it WifeTip is the stock tip in or peddle feel. Each one up SLT -> LT -> L. Just make the peddle more sensitive to input. My truck is stock so I feel SLT or LT call to me more, if I understand it correctly.

Posted in 3rd gen but reposting here.

About 60 miles on truck after tune now.

Immediately noticed the throttle and shifting improvement. I opted for the SLT and was shocked at the improvement it made over the stock throttle feel. About 20 miles in my wife drove the truck and she was immediately impressed with the improvement as well. On the drive home freeway under passes and over passes that it would downshift for before it held the gear and pulled with no trouble.

my wife said she could tell the difference from the passenger seat, she said it often felt like it was struggling.

I did two Dragy pulls this morning on the way to getting tuned. One with AC on the other with it off. I plan on repeating this next weekend after it’s had some time to fully adapt.

overall very happy so far with general drivability. Like others have said it should have been this way before.

Havent been able to find an answer to this question anywhere. Is it possible to run a Hypertech speedo calibrator in line with the KDMax tune? I really really want my speedo to be correct, its been a long time and Im sick of it haha. I dont want to install the Hypertech if it will screw with the tune though.

 

Picked up an AGM battery before my tune and he set it to the higher voltage.

 

It will work fine with the tune. No problems.
