It bums me out that i never frequently updated this thread, but fuck it, since the build isn’t done yet, I’ll ad what I’ve done and continue to post pictures as i go.
I have pictures of pretty much every stage of the truck so i still have the content.

the truck has changed DRASTICALLY since the picture above

Currently, I’m on 33’s, I’ve done bumpers, sliders, a front skid, air tank and fridge, rooftop tent bed supports and tent rack, and getting ready for a Detroit locker install and hydro bumps. Below are some pictures of various stages of the build to my current setup. I’ll be frequent updating as i move closer to 35’s and possibly SAS.

Nice build! Love ride height and wheels. What is your center of hub to bottom of fender measurement and are those NVs 0 offset and do they poke out at all? Those bronze NVs are :bananadead: on MGM.

    Thanks man!

I’ll have to check the height. they are 0 degree offset

the poke out a bit but not much. I’m gonna get beadlocks shortly and I’ll get an offset for some additional width.

it’s funny you mention the ride height cause I’m actually gonna go up in spring rate to try and get a little more height because in the rocks I’m always scraping under carriage. Lol

    I’ll get a measurement though!

Well, it sure has been a while! But i figured I’d keep the post going. I’ve gone down a rabbit hole with this truck. Especially since wheeling with guys on 37’s and 40’s.

    So here is the latest.

my lower control arms were shot, so i recently upgraded to camburg lower control arms and I couldn’t be happier.

I’m having some steering issues so I’m working on upgrading to heim steering. We will also be installing hydro bumps on the front as well.

I just finished the rear end and trying to figure out what I’m going to do for shocks.
    Here is the rear.

Icon RXT, 4XInnovations shackle flip and extended shackles, Icon Hydro Bumps

for those of you who have needed an extended shock, what are y’all running? And I really don’t want to run a wheel spacer to prevent rubbing on the shock. Help!

I'm thinking about the Camburg LCA's. How was the install? Do you have any pics of them installed?

Also you mentioned steering issues, does this have anything to do with the LCA's?

    I love them!

There are a few minor things that I will tel you to make note of. First, i went with these because i like having heims all the way around rather than having to worry about bushings. I also did this because i wanted heims rather than Ball Joints.

My truck is no longer a daily, so i don’t really have to worry about drivability much but having heims and the uniball i will say does have a few things that will change the ride,

First, the truck will track lines on the road a bit more than a ballpoint front end would.

i don’t really mind it but you just have to pay attention,

secondly, you feel a bit more of the road. Since your technically mounted metal to metal rather than having a bushing for impact, it’s definetly noticeable.

the last thing I’ve heard is that when in a uturn, the wheel won’t always comeback to you by itself. Personally this hasn’t been a huge issue for me and I’ve barely noticed it.

With all that said, I love them.

It’s an expensive upgrade, but the lower control arms are super weak and a pain to deal with when running bigger tires and beating up the rig. If i had a daily driver i may consider Dirtking Lowers, but for the way I wheel, Camburg was the best choice for me.

the install was actually very easy,

you have to cut off the steering stop, and the pull off your inner tie rods to put in a spacer that prevents you steering to far, but when your that far into taking the front end apart, might as well change the tie rods anyways.

install took me two days, but i did a lot of fabwork while the front end was off. You could knock it out in a few hours if your JUST doing the lower control arm.

move only been out once with them so far but I can’t wait to put more miles on them.

i will post some pics of them installed.

regarding steering, i think it’s just wheeling the truck hard.

I am converting to heim steering currently.

Thanks for the info. You sure the tracking isn't caused by not enough caster? My truck tracked like that before changing the uppers and then adding a bunch of caster with my alignment. Do you know what your alignment numbers are? What UCA's are you running?

I could probably play with the caster, but my alignment (before this last trip) was pretty solid and right on.

Im trying to remember but I think my Longtravel explorer did the same thing.

    Currently Running Icon UCA’s

my alignment gets really close when it’s on.

i haven’t really had a need to upgrade my uppers yet, but i do have the delta joint, when i finish the steering and the rear, i probably will upgrade the UCA to get away from a ball joint there as well.

My tracking went away with 3 degrees of caster. I originally had the standard Camburg UCA's but switched them out to the Kinetik a while back. Definitely curious how they'll be with the LCA's.

Oh yea those are so nice.

i may do the same. I’m trying to only upgrade when i break right now lol. The problem is I’m not breaking hahah i just keep making this thing more and more bulletproof.

    those are supper nice arms.

the box arms look SO much better than the round ones too.
Honestly, I’m so invested in my front end with the upcoming things i have coming up i probably should’ve gone long travel but i think this mid travel set up will be nuts

Thanks I really like the UCA's. How did you cut off the steering stops? Cutoff wheel? I'd be a bit concerned about heating the metal up and tempering it.

I actually used a bandsaw and it was cake

i started with a cutoff wheel but the bandsaw worked way better and it was cleaner. I do rub the arms a little in reverse fully turned though.

Well, We have a Moab trip booked for early may, and with jumping to 35’s I decided it’s finally time to gear.

So I will be pulling the differentials today so I can drop them of to be geared.

I will be running Revolution 5:29 Gears with an Eaton E-Locker In The Front, Detroit Locker in the rear with Nitro Gear Chromoly Axle Shafts.

    It’s the little things.

Got some new headlights installed with a projector retrofit. Pretty happy with the look. I need to adjust them a bit but what a huge difference in look and output
