    Hey all,
I had this idea to crowd-source a script (funny story, my phone autocorrected "script" to "scrotum". wtf!?) Maybe more accurate. We'll see.

Anyhew, I think we should create a script for a Christopher Guest movie (A Mighty Wind, Best in Show) that would be a parody of rediculously over the top, outlandish Overlanders.

I will start with the opening scene for "Overlandish"

    Opening Scene

[Camera pans in from Google Earth global view down to campsite with Toyotas on one side and Jeeps on the other]

Scene is around tidy campfire with high end stainless steel cooking frame surrounding fire, complete with cooking utensil storage rack like high end kitchen.

Overlander1: [looking at hamburger with incredulous gaze] "Jesus, you rascal, is this Kobe?"

Overlander2: "Hells ya, bro. [Gives knucks] And it's from the island nation itself. It's not some crappy American Wagyu knockoff. I've got a Japanese buddy who grabs me a couple pounds every time he goes home."

Alright guys. Add to my scene, or do your own scene. I'll see if we can get the idea to Christopher Guest. Hell, maybe he's a Tacoma Bro.

Why do people really care so much about what other people do with their money? asked overlander 1

Its because they are haters and probably just dont understand what its like to have massive amounts of extra income to spend- said overlander 2
as he drank from his yeti filled with his pappy van winkle 21, smoking a cohiba yellow dot and grilling his 15 ounce kobe ribeye

Overlander 2: What shade of Armor-All best matches my maxtrax? And what kind of polish do you use for your hi-lift?

Overlander 1: Armor all is super bad for your MaxTrax, my guy. I heard the best stuff to use is Jillian's Eagle Claw wax. Really makes them shine. I saw it on Overland Bound!

And are you still carrying that Hilift? They're super dangerous. That's why I bought this thing! *pulls out $900 ARB jack*

funny thing about hi lifts, they can only be dangerous if you use them frequently replied overlander 2. they stop locking into place.

thats why I just have 5 follow vehicles with cameras for my recovery, they also double as my camera crew.

    Recovery Scene 1.

[Zooming in from paramotor cam to Tacoma burried up to doors in mud]

Rescue vehicle (Jeep) owner: (over satellite phones-naturally) to buried Tacoma: "Hey man, I've got a winch here"

[Jeep guy pulls winch in original box out of storage bin, attaches air hose to way oversized compressor setup, pops on ratcheting impact wrench, and proceeds to mount winch to a tree with large lag screws. Extension cord from winch to Jeep battery and attaches jumpers. Proceeds with rescue]

Muddy Taco dude: "Thanks bro, I think I owe you a finger or two of my $300/bottle Anejo, dude. Top shelf Tequila is the Scotch of Overlanding, bruh"

Of course I have the ARB air bag lift, just that no one makes a mount for my bed rack so I can display it. Still need something for display purposes.

Air bag? HA, those are for scrubs. I'm talking about THIS. It's like a hilift, but WAY better. The guy at 4wheelparts told me so.

I've always seen the real "danger" of the hi-lifts being how they attach to the vehicle, and the JACK (WHY ARE YOU YELLING?! lol) doesn't really improve on that.

But yeah, for $812, easily worth it for a couple hundred likes.

How about a scene where a bunch of guys on a forum who never met another guy accuse him of being an instalander and doesn't know anything about being outdoors and off road..then, they go and make sure they post every single fucking pic of their entire life all over the internet while telling other people that's not what they do.

Then, in the next scene, all the people who take themselves too seriously and can't take a joke get mercilessly ridiculed.

Nice job guys. You killed my scene.

Although I DO think there would be a fair amount of bickering over dumb things like who posts most pictures. I see a scene where two guys are comparing the number of "likes" they got for their flex shot...

Meanwhile, as the disagreements raged on about which lift and who caught the most tail in their hayday....

A decked out Ridgeline pulls into view...

    Gasps all around....

They all burst into laughter as the ridgeline owner gets stuck after being high centered on what can only be compared to an average sized bundle of dollar bills...

Thats when they all remembered why it is they are bros... bcuz they all hate ridgelines....

    End scene

It was at this moment that @whatstcp burst up from his bed drenched in sweat...

It was only a bad dream... because of course these overlanders had upgraded their stock suspension to the best king setup available...

... meanwhile the Ridgeline owner is still stuck...
