I need to transport four of these fence panels. They are approx 6'x8' and weigh 80lbs each. Do you think it's possible to secure these (probably angled off the side) in a short bed with the tailgate down? Or should I just look into renting a larger truck from the home depot or uhaul? Delivery price is outrageous.

    Thanks

How far do you need to transport the panels?

About 10 miles No highway. Speed limit's about 45 the entire way.

The $20 truck rental would be my choice. Or a friends utility trailer.

Side note, I always build my fences, all of the pre built panels I've seen are not worth the effort.

The materials are easier to haul, the fence more robust, and you may well find the per foot cost to be very close.
