i want to run 315/75r16 so bad but im not looking to regear right now since im planning on switching to one tone axles...so im stuck with 285/75s or 305/70s but cant decide which ones would be the best

I like the fact that you can just "switch" to one ton axles. Must be nice

If you were 50+ you'd understand how easy it is to forget to return to a forum thread :)

I don't know about "wasting everyones time" just some food for thought and the father in me throwing out arguments I'd use in discussing something like this with my son: "Son, are you really sure you want to spend your money (what little you have) on something like this?" If it helps you in difficult driving conditions and/or to get more pussy then go for it.

It helps to get more pussy? Dang, and I'm stuck with my 265's....I could use some more, what with the divorce happening and all..... :)

However, on this topic, I'm actually using 265/75R16's and going full tube bumper and rock sliders NOT for the look.

I have a little hobby called "dog-sled racing", and I frequently (5 times a week) have to make it out to remote trail-heads, where the plows don't frequent and I can't see obstacles due to heavy snowfall. Also, in the late summer/early fall/late spring I have to run my dogs before dawn, so deer are quite a big threat to me as well. That's what the front bumper is for, mainly.

Of course, it's not gonna hurt that it looks bad-ass. Aesthetics and function can go hand in hand sometimes.

ive always thought the general consensus was that stock tires looks wierd on a 3inch suspesnion lift. but anyways humtaco i kno one thing is that you wont burn your money if you get your self the right 3 inch suspension lift. i can not be happier with mine. better ride/towing, handling, gave some life to my leaf pack, eliminated wheel hop. bilstein 5100s & eibach

late to the show and someone probably already commented on this.

yes thats roughly .5" of HEIGTH but the 285 also gives you a wider footprint. Ground clearance isnt everything that larger tires are good for, tread width makes a big difference as well.

I got 33x12.5 BFGs cause i go out in the sand a lot and wanted a wider tire for the traction, plus airing down will give me even better traction while plowing through soft sand

I gotta give the OP credit for starting such a stupid thread and generating so much talk. Some of this S--t is funny. One thing everyone is failing to remember is that people like the OP spend 30k on a new vehicle and then trade them in almost perfect condition so that poor folk like myself can buy them at half price and do as I please with it. So I call shotgun on the OP's vehicle.
