No, you need to open it all the way. I just installed mine on Sunday and it takes about 5 minutes to set up and 7 minutes to put away. The full coverage is awesome. My wife wanted the small square ones or at most the 180. I talked her into the big one and I actually had her say, "you were right" after she came out to see it. Unfortunately she wouldn't say it again so I could record it for posterity.....

You can deploy the 'back half' by itself and strap the front half back down, I guess. I've actually never used the poles and just tie it to the truck's rack.

One on each side of my pop up. No legs needed.Plenty sturdy even in sustained 20 mph winds. These things are quite good.

Update, the brackets that came with it do not work on my rago bed rack. They'll be for sale soon if anyone needs them.

I would be interested in getting a single bracket.
That would give me 4 total.
PM me if you are interested in selling me just one.
    Thx

Can't wait to use mine, having some brackets made now

Edit.. the fab shop made a poor excuse for a bracket qnd wanted 200 bucks. Politely told them to stuff it. Now waiting on rago to be in stock.

Minor issue. Not the awning, but the rack it's attached to... some of the anchors are coming loose.

Meaning your roof rack? Or where the arms of the awning are mounted to the base?

Yeah roof rack on the canopy. Guess the aero load of the awning was just a little too high for the footers, and they likely didn't locktite them when they installed those feet.

Hey! I have the same RSI cap as you! Do the gulwing doors work fine with the awning when fully opened? Any rubbing at all? Also, do you have it mounted to just the two cross bars?

The side door does not open fully with the awning on. It also impedes the rear door a little. I'm tempted to put some spacers under the awning to get some additional height so they both open fully. So far it hasn't been a big deal though, just a slight annoyance.

Do you mind sending a pic with the side door and rear door open when employed please? At least when u get the chance. I could definetely see that the metal would rub on the frame of the awning.

Awning is off the truck right now but I'll be camping with it in 2 weeks and can take some pics then.
