That is where we put the original one right in front of the muffler and we put a second one right in front of that one near the Y in the pipe. Things are still running great and fingers crossed they keep that way. Having a few hundred miles on the tune I believe everything is good to go.

Not sure if I'm noticing a performance improvement myself but only have about 100 miles on it. Thanks for the feedback.

Congrats on doing it yourself. It wasn't easy for me. Did you have to bend the transmission support bracket to line up with the lower flange on the down tube?

Yes the new pipes and new gaskets will have a certain smell to them as they cook in.

On the passenger side I had to use some NRS straps to keep the bracket in line but the length was good. The drivers side needed two washers between the manifold and the trans bracket to make it work without bending but the alignment was good. Recommend loosening the two bolts on the transmission to get the brackets out of the way when removing the tubes (makes life easier but they are not easy to get too). Also, make sure the manifold gaskets go on the way they came off. Will check torques and shoot a vid later.

You have torque specs? Would love to know!

Also would love to know if you pulled codes before flashing the tune... as Mat says there shouldn’t be any codes with these on stock tune or any tune.

It may have a smell for the first few heat cycles.

Thanks for the info @OVTune and @M1Awolf. Need a thermal camera or a buddy to check the front while I put a rag over the tailpipe to be sure I am not just smelling something that isn't there.

Shot a few videos... nothing really panned out but this little clip is decent even with the wind noise. Just tubes on stock exhaust (non-TRD/Borla stainless).

Here is the link that Matt posted in the manual ovt thread for all of the public tune files. There are catted and uncatted versions of most of the tunes now available for manual and auto transmissions. Please only use this link if you know what version ecu you have and whether your p5flash or dongle/pcm.

Loaded the catless 91 file for 04b13 PCM and still have the CEL after clearing codes and learned values. Ticket sent to zendesk along with a couple log files, ticket #10754

FWIW I also have the URD cat delete pipe that I installed over a year ago and never got a CEL until I installed the catless tubes...

What are the codes you are getting? click "READ DTC" in our software and include that in the ticket

I’ve been really interested in getting these since their release but waiting for this very thread to gauge the response of those who jumped on it.
Gotta say... after watching the couple videos that have been posted so far, I’m not sure if it’s just the sound encoding or just me or what but they have all sounded like an autozone ricer exhaust that you see hanging off beaten down Civics.

Are the videos just deceptive? Am I crazy? Not saying the dump tubes specially are the cause of this as those that have posted videos have other exhaust mods but damn I just don’t see how anyone likes that sound

To state again, I have the catless tubes and an incessant CEL. Tried the O2 bung extensions with catalytic material in them in downstream holes, then in upstream holes, then in both and nothing has worked, so don't go that route. Wasted $60.
All that said, Im super happy with the performance. To be fair, OVTune never stated there would not be a CEL or that if there was that they could fix it. It is what it is. It's a fine line for them to balance with EPA restrictions I'm sure.

Fingers crossed for the new catless tune released today for us dongle folks - thank you Mat!

I'll be flashing it tomorrow. Until now three different tunes have not made it more than 20 miles without a CEL. I will report here after I get a CEL or after 100 miles if no CEL.

In other news, Gadget from URD responded to an inquiry about a dedicated O2 sensor simulator for the 3rd gens and said quote, "We are trying to develop a rock solid solution, but currently we are using our universal version that does a pretty good job. Not perfect."

So there may be a solution eventually.

After seeing that code for open or grounded circuit, I double checked the connections of the O2 sensors on the dump tubes and then it dawned on me...I had to disconnect the downstream sensor on the drivers side to sneak the stock tubes out and forgot to plug it in.rpyqxrxKyMXHnavCpZzV.gif I plugged it back in cleared the code and a quick 5 mile test drive and no CEL. My apologies Mat but if the data logs I sent are of any use.....

Ok Kids what did we learn today...? Even professionals with 30yrs of experience make rookie mistakes when pushed for timerpyqxrxKyMXHnavCpZzV.gif

ETA Since I have a ticket in,initial impression is:burnrubber:the truck just gets with it now,I love the tip in on my truck,it doesn't take much skinny pedal to get it rolling and second gear is a blast.

See, this is why I don't put a lot of stock in videos to judge exhaust sound quality. So many variables in recording and playback equipment. You're not going to hear a good exhaust sound reproduction out of cell phone or pc speakers.

I recently installed an exhaust system that eliminates the secondary cats from DirtyDeeds and got a CEL for low catalytic converter efficiency. This is with stock dump tubes. I have a set of catted dump tubes from OvTune and kept my secondary cats so I plan on having the secondary cats welded into the DirtyDeeds midpipes and installing the ovtune dump tubes and then flashing the proper tune. Once I have some more info I will post it.
