OP, hope you're ok with me bumping this resourceful thread.

If anyone in Portland is in need of flash tuning and/or ECU TSB updates, I'm offering my services. I'm in SW and @cemented is in SE PDX.

    Thanks!

    That's perfectly fine with me.

Getting folks updated with the TSBs and spreading the flash fun is what it is all about.

@tonered Have you messed around with the TechStream customization?

I got set up with the High octane ov2.0 tune. There weren't many other options at the time. While we did it tho, we also messed with TechStream.

No seat belt audio alarm and 5 blinks when you partially press the turn signal have to be my favorite thing. Even more than the tune!

What other tunes are available now for a 16' mt? I am on a 04b14.

Yes. I was doing TSB flashes and customizations before I had OVT.

Those changes are excellent though. I have done the same.

The 04B14 tunes are the very latest from OVT. I don't expect much change in the future other than people doing their own edits like the AGM voltage bump and the linear throttle mods.

Just got my ovtune done by tony this morning . Only driven maybe 30-40 miles but damn huge difference. The Tacoma just drives better now, shifts are super smooth and seems to hold 6th gear much better. Will give an updated review as I drive it more but so far it’s a huge improvement...

    thanks tony!

I’m not even a full tank through yet with ovtune, and tbh I had no issues really with how my truck drove before getting the tune. But man, now it’s like driving a completely different truck- just drives well, no weird shifts , more power. 10/10 would recommend if you haven’t done it

    The tunes just rock.

Feels like a normal engine and transmission.

    Thanks for jumping in.

Smooth is a great way to describe it. OVT definitely tamed the Stock weirdness.

Had my EUC Flashed with 2.0 Final by PNWTacoma yesterday. For those thinking about getting the vF2.0 flash I will document here what my experiences are until the tune fully sets in and I feel the EUC has done it's learning

    Tune set for:
    AT
    33's
    Stock gears
    Premium fuel
While in there he also turned offseat belt chime for both driver and passenger. Thank you PNW!

First off the flash was done approximately 10 miles from my house so the drive home was pretty uneventful. He did tell me it would be around 100 miles before I notice significant changes as the ECU learns the tune and closer to 500 miles as truck
    relearns my driving style.

I live in a rural area in the hills at 1,000ft and the last few miles were all up hill on windy roads. The first thing I noticed right away as I started to climb the first real up hill the tranmission stuck 3rd and stayed there until the top of the first climb for the first time.. EVER. At this point it would usually go to fourth then down to 2nd then 3rd and 4th then...well you know. I actually let out a small giggle and for the first time i didn't feel like I needed S mode on this first section of the climb.

Fast forward to today I went for a 50 mile drive and drove like I usually do which is pretty much like I stole it. I have to say it's getting better with every mile. I noticed the shift points are where they should be. Gears hold much longer when appropriate and the transition from gear to gear is smoother. Low end torque is noticeably better already but its still early and I know this will get even better with more learning. Decided to shift to S mode with ECT on and its that much better. So far I'm liking what I'm experiencing and will update as I put on more miles.

    Thanks again PNWTacoma!

UPDATE 9/25: Took the truck out for its first highway run yesterday since the Tune for about 75 miles at speeds between 60-85 and the usual gear hunting has all but disappeared. Its actually not annoying to drive at highway speeds anymore. Sorry no MPG report yet as I'm waiting until I've burned through atleast a tank of gas to get an accurate measurement however this could be a while since the garage queen only sees about 400 miles a month. I'll post up after my next rip to the mall or taco cart

You’re welcome! Thanks for the detailed feedback. It’s great to hear real world feedback and I’m thrilled that the truck drives like it’s supposed to. Enjoy it and thanks again.

I went out for a long drive this weekend 3+ hours. Reset my MPG meter to give this a test.

Now typically with mixed driving my tacoma reads at about 12-13 mpgs (obviously this is slightly off due to larger tires etc.). After 60+ miles with a combo of highway city etc i was averaging between 15-16.7 mpgs. Will continue to test for larger sample size but here's the thing, i haven't seen mpgs like this since i was stock lol.

    Hey, Nate.

That is absolutely killer. More torque and drivability with a fuel economy bump is what this is all about.

I'm looking forward to the long term numbers that you see.
