I just checked in to the old VFTuner and OVTune threads but they’ve both been locked. Does anyone know if tow mode, gear lock, or performance tunes were ever released? They were supposed to be released in mid 2020. I checked back late 2020 and then early 2021 and they still weren’t released yet, now I check back late 2021 and the threads are locked. Hopefully someone has some good news!

The Perf and Tow tunes, MapSwitching, and GearLock has not been released yet. Those should come as part of the Ultimate tunes when they are ready.

You got sold vaporware from an unscrupulous vendor. There is a reason he isn't on this site anymore.

Not really, at one point it was just one dude, and similar to MESO there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done.

Now, some might say that things shouldn't be advertised or pre-sold until there is enough in stock for demand (MESO products) or until all components are completed (updates to tune pack files) but that is a different conversation.

Would it still be vaporware if there is an actual product that is available, usable and being use by a large portion of the community?

    Incomplete, overpromised, soon™, etc.? Maybe.

But vaporware, I don't think so.

People have been waiting since December 2019 for a product that still doesn't exist. Calling it vaporware was being polite.

But if you wait until you actually have a tune to sell to people you couldn't swindle a bunch of people with Black Friday sales.

Yeah. The goon show really did it in, but the CS side has always been an anchor.

Whenever I see mention of ultimate tunes (which I was pretty sure I was purchasing over a year ago) people are usually just saying to try one of the third party tunes. That’s all good and fine, and they are probably excellent tunes, but I’m already $1100 into OVtune and don’t have what I thought was a large part of I paid for. Regular 2.0 feels the same as stock to me, so I’ve been on stock for months now lol.. I don’t even really mind how the truck drives or the frequent shifting, I just want it to not bog down in third gear while making a turn.

I think whatever he decided to call that last version he punted out before he abandoned the platform is better than stock in many ways, but it sure as hell isn't what I paid for, and I'm definitely not paying more into a system when I haven't even been given what I paid for back in 2019.

One thing to try there. Either use one of the 33in or 35in tire tunes, whichever is larger than you have tried already, or edit the tune file to a larger size. The tire size tunes have no effect on the speedo and are there only to account for size and weight of tires. I've used it to offset the weight of canopies and / or roof racks. Works very well at that.

Some of you are just shouting into the ether by dragging Mat and his tunes though the mud on TW.
He's BANNED and can't respond here.
You want to stir things up, go on the Vf forum and/or Facebook.
    You're wasting your time.

From someone who purchased this, I definitely feel that I didn’t get what I paid for. We were told at the time of purchase that 2.0 final (with all the features) would be out within a few months of the purchase. It kept getting pushed and pushed and pushed. I kept seeing all these “up and coming” features and “possible release dates” that never came. @tonered was more responsive and more helpful than the vendor was at solving problems and answering questions. I feel like I got something for my money, but probably only 2/3 of what was promised.

I’ll sum it up as a learning experience. I learned a lot about the tuning process, I have the software that will allow me to flash other peoples tune, I met some great members on here like @tonered who couldn’t have been more helpful, and I learned not to pay for a product that is incomplete.
